Please help Walter on his road to recovery..

My dearest friends husband was hit by Covid over 5 weeks ago. He ended up in hospital and is now on life support and in a
coma due to this horrific pandemic. He had no underlying problems and was fit and healthy, only days before catching the
virus passing a medical for his job, but the virus hit his lungs and he now has severe Pulmonary Fibrosis. The hospital put
him onto a trial of medication, which we're not sure if he consented to, this is under investigation. During this time he was
given a randomised selections of drugs and is now in the final stretch - of which is only Aspirin.
The hospital advised Lisa that his life support machine should be turned off, more humane than letting his organs fail they
said, although he was clearly still fighting.  This was so distressing and quite unbelievable that the hospital wanted let him
go so soon. Lisa and her family fought hard to keep him on the life support. The hospital eventually apologised and admitted they were wrong.
During this battle he missed out on the opportunity to have a life saving operation called ECMO at Papworth Hospital - 10
days ago - sadly since being denied this vital surgery, due to being in the final trial stages of treatment, his kidneys and lungs
are beginning to fail and he has become paralysed.  They are trying desperately to get him out of this trail so they can move him.  
We have little time left to save this wonderful mans life and urge anyone to please help raise the funds to get him the
medication he needs.
We believe there are 2 specialist hospitals that we can fight to transfer him to, trying again at Papworth and
The Royal Brompton & Harefield in London or if all else fails we are looking into a specialist hospital in America - through
the American Lung Association. We would be forever grateful if you could share this and reach out to anyone who could
help get Walter to the next stages of care he needs to make sure he survives.

This GoFund page will help to transfer him into private health care and pay for treatment, the next trials available or if 
necessary receive help from America. Which will cost in fees to get him there and be treated. As yet we can only go on the
knowledge of surgery privately costing £60,000.00 before any transfer costs.

We need this help as we feel NNUH has given up on him - but we certainly HAVE NOT!!!

Lisa and Walter found love together in the later years of their lives after having troubled  relationships over the years.
Their story hasn’t been easy, they’ve fought hard to be together. Finally they were released by their past, and blessed  by
getting married in a romantic location, then have created some special memories together, but their love story has been
short and they need to be brought back together so they can continue the path they are meat to follow.

Since being in hospital they’ve not been allowed to see each other, Lisa has not been able to hold Walter in her arms or
