Help Save a Gaza Mother from MS and Permanent Disability

My name is Hala Daoud, a Palestinian living in Gaza. I am in my forties and have three children. My eldest is my son Osama, 17 years old, my daughter Lana is 13 years old, and my son Mohammed is 9 years old.

It was God's will that I suffer from a severe and chronic disease called multiple sclerosis (MS). We discovered the disease at the end of 2021. Initially, I experienced strange symptoms such as difficulty walking and inability to stand and balance. After undergoing numerous tests, including an MRI of the brain, it was revealed that I had this disease.

I had never heard of this disease before, so I asked the treating doctor to explain the causes and symptoms of this disease and whether there is a cure for it. In short, this disease causes the body's immune system to attack the nervous system, causing nerve damage. These nerves can be related to the legs, hands, balance, or urination. This disease can cause many symptoms, depending on the severity of the attack and where it occurs. The causes of the disease are unknown.

The treatment for the disease is a medication called ocrelizumab (Ocrevus) 600mg(2x300mg), administered every six months to prevent these attacks and protect the nervous system from immune system attacks.

What happens if I don't take the treatment? The attacks will increase, leading to nerve damage and permanent disability in the best-case scenario, along with other symptoms like loss of bladder control and vision impairment.

Where did I get this treatment from? Previously, the Ministry of Health provided it to me, albeit with great difficulty. No patient can buy the treatment themselves because it is very, very, very expensive. The cost of one dose reaches $12,000. Now, due to the collapse of the healthcare system in Gaza because of the war, the treatment is no longer available in Gaza, and I must go to Egypt and buy it at my own expense.

I stand here completely unable to do so because traveling to Egypt and buying the medicine is expensive, and I do not have this amount of money. Therefore, I am here asking for your help to save me from the specter of permanent disability and assist in purchasing this treatment, whether for six months or a year, so I can continue to live normally.

اكتشفنا المرض في أواخر عام 2021 كنت اعاني في البدايه من أعراض غريبه مثل صعوبة في المشي وعدم القدرة على الوقوف والاتزان وبعد عمل الكثير من الفحوصات منها صورة رنين مغناطيسي للمخ .. تبين من خلالها إصابتي بهذا المرض ...

أنا لم اسمع من قبل بهذا المرض لذلك طلبت من الدكتور المعالج أن يوضح لي أسباب وأعراض هذا المرض وهل له علاج ام لا

باختصار هذا المرض يقوم الجهاز المناعي للجسم بمهاجمة الجهاز العصبي ويسبب تلف للأعصاب قد تكون هذه الأعصاب خاصه بالارجل أو اليدين او الاتزان أو التبول أعراض كثير يمكن أن يسببها هذا المرض وهي تعتمد على قوة الهجمه واين تكون

اسباب المرض غير معروفه ..

علاج المرض يتمثل في دواء اسمه

ocrelizumab ocrevus 600ml

جرعه كل ستة أشهر لمنع هذه الهجمات وحماية الجهاز العصبي من هجمات الجهاز المناعي

في حال لم آخذ العلاج ماذا يحدث ؟

ستزداد الهجمات ,ستزداد الهجمات وتتلف الاعصاب واصل إلى الاعاقه الدائمة في احسن الاحوال وتظهر أعراض أخرى مثل عدم التحكم في التبول وعجز في البصر

من اين كنت احصل على هذه العلاج؟ ..

سابقا كانت وزارة الصحه هي من توفرها لي .. وبصعوبة جدا .. ولا يستطيع أي مريض شراء العلاج بنفسه ..لانه مكلفه جدا جدا جدا ثمن الجرعه يصل إلى 12000$

الان وبسبب انهيار المنظومة الصحية في غزة بسبب الحرب أصبح العلاج غير متوفر في غزة و يجب أن أذهب إلى مصر واشتريها على نفقتي الخاصة .

وانا اقف هنا عاجزة تماما عن ذلك لأن خروجي إلى مصر وشراء الدواء مكلف ولا املك هذا المبلغ

لذلك انا هنا اطلب منكم المساعده في أن تبعدوني عن شبح الاعاقه الدائمة والمساعدة في شراء هذة العلاج سواء لستة أشهر أو لسنه لاستمر في الحياة بشكل طبيعي
