Help save a neglected dogs life! Norma needs us

I am Norma's Aunt. This is my brother Sean's story:

Because of someone’s inhumane decision to run a puppy mill and neglect those who need a little bit of extra care, what could have been fixed months ago with some dewormer has now nearly costed the life of a sweet and innocent puppy who we now call Norma (Norma MacDonald, RIP Norm - thanks for letting us use your name). I was working when I stopped at a home where I found her sitting in a cage, emaciated, wet and covered in feces. I asked the owner what was wrong with her to which he insisted, nothing. He claimed to have had her tested for everything, but that she was fine, she just wasn’t eating. However, I couldn’t help but wonder if she tested negative for everything, why was this person keeping her separated from all the other dogs he had on the premise? I couldn’t even collect my thoughts to recognize that I was standing in the middle of an unsafe puppy mill because I was too concentrated on what I could do for this poor 8 month dog who was suffering right in front of me. I mentioned that I was really good with animals and would be willing to try and help. A few hours later, I was able to convince the asshole who owns the place to let me come pick her up and take her into my care. This guy thinks I’m returning her after bringing her back to life for him to breed. Not only does this person never get to see Norma again, but he doesn’t deserve to own a SINGLE DOG for the rest of his life. I knew what I had to do, I had to take her home and aide her back to health.

What we originally thought was just worms and would be taken care of with some antibiotics, dewormer, an appetite stimulant and fluids via IV turned into so much more. I do not regret taking Norma away from her hell, which is the only thing this girl knew for the last 8 months, but I do need financial help to get her feeling good. She was so weak this morning, I took Norma back to the emergency vet. We’re now looking at costs between $3k and $5k, depending on how she does over the next few days and what else she might need. Norma is at the Vet ER currently where she’s had more tests done, the Veterinarian had to bring her temperature down, they have her on feeding tubes, more fluids, and they’re monitoring her closely to give her life back to her. She is going to have a blood transfusion today, which will hopefully get her levels back to normal. The Vet believes that because Norma is young and (otherwise) healthy, she has a good chance at making a full recovery. She will be staying overnight for roughly 3 nights so the professionals can monitor her closely to give her the best chance at kicking animal neglects ass. When Norma leaves the Emergency clinic and comes back to her new home that is anxiously awaiting for her arrival so we can all give her the love she’s deserved since day 1, she will be on more medication to keep her stable.

I am not asking for a handout, and although I wish I had the means to pay out of my own pocket to save Norma’s life, I simply don’t. So, I’m asking for help. I did not think that on Friday when I went to work, I would be coming home with a 20lb dog who SHOULD BE about 60lbs. I did not think I’d be giving this beautiful baby with butchered ears an IV around the clock this weekend or that I would be cleaning up diarrhea with worms all over my home. It was not planned, but I am so happy to welcome Norma to my family and I know that the mutual love we all have for animals will help me take care of the financial part. I’ve seen people rally to save dogs on social media before, and I’m hoping we can do the same for Norma. My first priority right now is making sure she is set up to live a long and healthy life. Next comes getting the animal abusers puppy mill shut down, having him arrested for animal cruelty and neglect, and finding rescues to help re-home the rest of the dogs who are essentially working for this monster.

Thank you so much to everyone who decides to help. No amount is too small. Let's give Norma the chance at life that ALL dogs deserve! <3
