Save America from TRUMP - Let's Motivate the Undecided

Hello to all Americans,

My name is Roger Nelson.

I am preparing a unique way for you and me to ask fellow Americans to get out and VOTE to save our country from the CHAOS that would surely follow Trump’s reelection. You can put your own message(s) onto the streets for all to see, as well as powerful messages I have prepared. How? We will book LED TRUCKS to drive for 8 hours a day through the streets of key counties in swing states, each with 3 LED digital panels carrying those messages, including audio. More information below. Please read on. Don’t let your country be destroyed by extremists!!! And check this out........as a concept.

I was born and raised in Chicago. My parents taught the six of us to be fair-minded, empathic and to listen to what others have to say with an open mind and heart. They surely would have been shocked to see the bitter partisan divisions currently plaguing America. Donald Trump may not have created these, but he has and still is stoking those divisions to devastating effect, mainly to serve his own personal ends, regardless of the tragic cost to our country. Let us pray that this may come to an end soon. But let us also ACT.

Trump’s own White House Counsel, Ty Cobb, said Trump is the “greatest threat to democracy that we’ve ever seen….he has never cared about America, its citizens, its future or anything but himself." John Kelly, Trump's Chief of Staff & 4 Star General, has said “(Trump)….has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law.” How can we not listen to these voices who know Trump so well? Wasn’t January 6 alone enough to disqualify Trump? What will become of women’s rights?

But it doesn’t end there. Please research the 900 page “Project 2025” and decide for yourself if you want the entire government dismantled to favor ultra right wing policies under what some are calling Dictator Trump, who recently shared a video referring to a "unified Reich“ if he wins. Is this what you want?

And finally, though the cost of living has gone up, what Trump will likely do is again lower taxes for the rich and increase inflation dramatically with his tariff plan, which will not help Americans one bit. Most of his time and energy will be about revenge, dismantling our government, worsening climate change and serving his own interests.

Many Americans are once again excited, hopeful and energized with the likely candidature of Kamala Harris, but we can’t let our guard down. We must do all we can to SAVE OUR COUNTRY from the division and chaos TRUMP would bring to us. PLEASE HELP US!!! The polls are not reliable. The winner in 2020 would have changed by flipping just over 81,000 votes in four states (Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin and Georgia)!

Let’s spread messages to those in America who may be UNDECIDED yet open to hear what perhaps they have not heard before. And think seriously about if and how they will vote in November. These are the Persuadables – 6% of US voters!!!

Here is our current proposal for one of the LED trucks:

FIRE IN THE BELLY

Donations of any amount will help immensely. Truly. Those who are able to donate $200 to this campaign can FORMULATE THEIR OWN MESSAGES which will then be displayed on an 11.5’ x 6.5’ LED truck screen traveling for 8 hours through the streets of key counties in the swing states, in addition to the messages I have formulated (listed below).

Those LED screens (2 side screens per truck) will scroll through 10 different donor messages over those 8 hours. If one wishes to donate $2000 (alone or with friends), that donation will have all 10 messages to themselves. (NOTE: the rear LED screen will carry messages I have formulated)

Here’s what that could look like:

I ask donors to add their first name and the state they hail from. In 2020 quite a few brave Republican voters showed their first names and faces on huge billboards declaring they cannot vote for Trump. And at rvat.org, you will find videos of over 200 Republican voters who explain why they cannot vote for Trump. More details about custom donor messages are found below.

As for messages I have formulated, the first batch will be threefold:

First, cite the words of KEY FIGURES in Trump’s own administration who have all spoken out and WIDELY CONDEMNED TRUMP as unfit for office. People like John Kelly, Ty Cobb, John Bolton, Jim Mattis, Mark Esper, William Barr and so many others. It’s very possible that many undecided voters are not even aware of these warnings.

Second, send messages about women’s rights. Encourage young women to register and then VOTE! As well as motivate older women to vote!

Third, warn voters about Project 2025 and the prospect of removing guardrails protecting key institutions and government agencies from being horribly politicized or outright dissolved. Trump would not make the mistake he made in 2016 of hiring serious professionals. Next time he’ll hire only bootlickers and yes men, regardless of qualifications or lack thereof. We must open our eyes to what they are planning. Again, many voters know little about this.

Some say that Project 2025 proposes slashing funding for the Department of Justice, dismantling the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security, sharply reducing environmental and climate change regulations to favor fossil fuel production, eliminating the Departments of Commerce and of Education, and ending the independence of various federal agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission. This alone should convince anyone who loves freedom to vote against TRUMP.

Further messages, some using images or videos, are being developed. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

If we can reach PERSUADABLE voters, then perhaps we can make the difference of a few precious percentage points in key swing states.

WILL YOU JOIN ME? A well meaning person on GoFundMe has raised over 2 million dollars for Trump. Certainly we can also roll up our sleeves.

STRATEGY

I have reached out to the DNC and state organizations to ask for advice on where to focus these messages, and on the messages themselves. I also have the good fortune of having found an LED truck broker who has years of experience as a political campaign consultant, and his advice concerning swing states, bellwether counties, truck routes and times of day has already proven invaluable.

We are aiming for UNDECIDED voters, which could mean unmotivated Democrats and women of any age who might be persuaded to actually get out and vote, as well as Republicans who otherwise might vote for Trump out of sheer habit. Not to mention those independents who are not sure.

The 7 swing states are North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Wisconsin. Taken together, these seven swing states have slightly more than one-third of the electoral votes needed to win the presidency. Because these states play a pivotal role in the election of the president, they are key focuses of campaign advertising.

In those swing states are bellwether counties - counties which have largely voted for the candidate that eventually became president. Which means those counties can go either way. Those are the counties we are aiming for. They are easily identifiable.

I also have several Media Suppliers on board to assist in procuring the best truck routes and times of day, as well as offering additional strategic advice based on their many years of experience. I have been lucky so far, since many of them feel we need to act.

The extent of our reach will depend on how well this fundraising works.

My first idea was to go for billboards with simple text messages. Here are my initial rough mockups:

LED TRUCKS

For reasons explained below, the current approach will be to hire LED trucks, each with 3 digital video panels. On average, an LED truck can generate impressions (views) from thousands to tens of thousands per hour, depending on the population density and route. For instance, in urban areas during peak hours, a single LED truck can make impressions on over 20,000 individuals within an hour. On top of that, if the message is compelling, and that is my aim, passersby will take photos and share on social media – which multiplies these figures exponentially. Amazing.

Studies indicate that LED trucks can yield up to 40% more impressions compared to traditional static billboards in a similar timeframe. And this is not taking into account the social media factor mentioned above. When this happens impressions happen all over the country, including onto the smartphones of influencers, news agencies and broadcasters.

Dwell time, the duration during which the audience is exposed to the LED display is a crucial factor. LED trucks, due to their mobility, can potentially increase dwell time as they move along with traffic, and in slow traffic pedestrians will have time to take photos and share them. We are also allowed 10 legal stops per day, which increases pedestrian dwell time – as well as the sharing of photos on social media..

The average dwell time for LED trucks is around 40 seconds, significantly higher than static billboards, especially those along roads where traffic moves quickly. And if various messages are scrolling on an LED screen, pedestrians may linger to see what’s next. Think of how many seconds you have to take in a static highway billboard when you are driving.

Here is a mockup as an example. Yes, that’s an LED truck in front of Trump Tower. The haunting music of the Arlington morning bugle will play. Even if this GoFundMe fails miserably, which I pray it won’t, I will make sure that at least this one happens. Yes, I know, New York is not a swing state, but this is too good to pass up.

PRICING

One LED truck for an 8 hour day will cost between $2100 and $2600, depending on location and the deal we can make with media brokers. If we can raise $100,000, that could make up to 46 truck days. If we can raise $500,000, that’s over 230 truck days. Once funds start landing we will test some truck runs in June or July in order to fine tune our strategy and gauge performance. Be prepared to see photos on social media of our trucks, photos taken by passersby.

PROOF OF PERFORMANCE

For each LED truck day we’ll receive dozens of photos as well as GPS tracking data as proof of performance, which will be shared here as this campaign progresses. The LED trucks also have high quality speakers if we choose to include audio. I have been investigating the use of audio. Imagine hearing a young child asking “Mom, how come Donald Trump isn’t in jail yet?” Or “Mom, did Trump really say our fallen soldiers are suckers? Does that include Dad?” Okay, maybe not. But you get the picture. One option is the very moving sound of a military bugle.

TRANSPARENCY.

All spending will be reported in this campaign. GoFundMe takes a transaction fee 2.9% + $0.30 per donation. If this campaign is very successful, I will need tax advice. The GoFundMe website gives some information about this, but suggests one should see a tax consultant. If I have to pay taxes I will know before this campaign ends, and all of this information will be openly presented in this campaign.

CUSTOM DONOR MESSAGES

Donor messages will be reviewed and accepted as long as they are within limits of acceptable languaging, factual accuracy and message length. I suggest 20 to 30 words as a maximum. Each LED truck will scroll through approximately 10 messages, for 8 hours, on each of the two LED panels, which again are 11.5’ x 6.5’. I must ask you to include at least your first name and the state you hail from. Without this the message is weak. I again encourage you to visit rvat.org for inspiration.

SCROLLING MESSAGES

The duration of each message on the LED screens is yet to be determined. Could be 20 seconds or so. If the messages are seen to be scrolling, people (especially pedestrians) might be tempted to keep watching to see the next message. And of course taking photos and sharing on social media.

AUDIO

This is another way for the LED trucks to garner attention. Simple music could be good, but there are other options, as noted above. What about a simple question about Trump from a child to a parent? Or imagine hearing Lindsey Graham’s voice saying “You know how you make America great again? Tell Donald Trump to go to hell.” Or other recognizable voices, especially those from Trump’s own party. Recorded speeches by public figures are considered public domain. Please correct me if I am wrong.
