Help Save American Legion Post 465
Founded in 1941, the American Legion Post 465 has a rich history of community engagement and support for veterans. Throughout their over 80-year history as a non-profit organization, post 465 has supported local programs for children and youth, community service and education. The post’s support for veterans is always first and foremost and they have served them with pride while partnering with the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Long Beach and the nursing home at the VA.
In recent years, the American Legion Post 465 has become a beloved venue for live music. Its historical bar and original wooden dancefloor have made it a cherished place for local musicians and fans of original rock n’ roll. The post currently host various live music events and serves as the official home of the 50’s rock n’ roll club “Fuss n’ Holler” as well as “The Cochran Club” paying homage to the fact that rock n’ roll pioneer, Eddie Cochran preformed at the hall in the 1950’s.
The public health crisis around the COVID-19 pandemic has created devastating financial hardships for millions of people and businesses, including American Legion Post 465. With bars unable to operate and live events prohibited, the post is unable to function at this time and is surviving on its small savings and the generosity of its supporters. If you are able, please donate below to help keep this historic venue and vital community partner open for generations of veterans and music fans to come.
