Hello, my name is Elise Burton, and I have never created a GoFundMe for our family, but I've found myself in a financially difficult situation. Our 11-year-old cat, Aphrodite, has suddenly fallen ill. Her liver enzymes are through the roof. So high that the vet stated it was off the charts. This requires a few nights' stay and an internal medicine consultation as they believe it could be IBD or, worst-case scenario, small cell lymphoma. This will reach up to 10,000 dollars quickly to get an answer. That's what the current estimates are at. Aphrodite is the most loving cat we have ever owned. Your mere presence will excite her, and she will join you wherever you are and sit next to you, purring as loudly as ever. She will hold entire conversations with you.

Typically, we could swing this, and it would be manageable. However, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer back in August 2024. I had surgery in November 2024. Since then, I've had several other health concerns come up. I've been in the ER overnight and had multiple scans done—this led to finding nodules in my lungs a few weeks ago that required immediate biopsy. I've now been diagnosed with Sarcoidosis and am still scheduled for even more consults and procedures.

This is America; even with insurance, these bills are piling on fast. I don't want our family cat and my son's beloved friend since childhood to suffer because of my health struggles. We're all fighting our battles, but we would be forever grateful if you could find it in your heart to spare anything.

All funds will go towards her emergency vet costs. Including procedures to rule out cancer and any medication she may receive as a result. The price I've listed above is just the beginning estimate.
