Help Save Asheville's Hip Replacements
Donativo protegido
To our dear customers and community,
Paige Borden here, co-owner of Hip Replacement's Clothing in downtown Asheville.
We need your help.
Hip Replacements opened its doors for in 1995 as a funky little vintage shop and has been an Asheville staple ever since. As Asheville grew and evolved, so did Hip, blossoming into the vintage/vintage inspired fusion it is today.
I first found this haven of a downtown shop when I was 15 years old. If you needed rainbow knee socks, Manic Panic hair dye, and of course some $5 sunnies and a free dum-dum, that's where you'd find them. After I was lucky enough to manage the shop for a few years, my family and I took over ownership in 2023. Since then, tourism in Asheville have dramatically decreased and so have our sales. Hip Replacements was already struggling before Helene hit.
Words cannot express how heart broken we are by the horrible loss Hurricane Helene brought to our region. We had to close our doors on September 27 because we had no water, internet, or customers. We plan on opening Fridays and Saturdays beginning October 18th. Without your help, we are not sure we will be able to remain open. Please consider making a donation so that this 30 year old Asheville institution can stay a part of our community.
100% of all money raised will go directly to our rent and utilities.
And there are other ways you can help. You can stop in and purchase something from our unique little store, or visit our website to buy a chance to win our Candy Corn Guessing Game.
Anything Helps and will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Paige, Greg, and Kim
