3-3-23 FINAL UPDATE ON BUBBA-
Bubba is coming home today!
It’s been a long two plus months of treatment for Bubba.
All wounds are closed, no more holes where infection could set in.
We still need $2598 in donations to completely cover Bubbas vet bill. Balance due is $4598. I do have $2000 from a very generous donor with a huge heart. Bless you Theresa.
Without the generosity from everyone that has donated Bubba wouldn’t be able to be coming home today or he would be missing another leg.
I can’t thank Dr B at Magnolia Pet Wellness enough for the incredible care and treatment she and her team has given Bubba. They truly went above and beyond for Bubba.
I added two pictures to show Bubbas two wounds now. To see how he was til now is a miracle.
How could anyone look at his happy face and not want to help him. I couldn’t.
Again, thank you ALL for your kind and thoughtful donations.
We have made sure that Bubbas yard is secure and safe for him to return home.
God Bless you all!
2-16-23 UPDATE -
Bubba will be coming home soon. He still has a small pencil eraser size hole on his outside leg.
It may not sound serious to most people after all that he’s gone through. We just don’t want Bubba to go home with any open wound and be able to get even a slight infection. Not after this long road he’s been on.
All I can say is thank god for an amazing vet who saved Bubbas leg.
I’d like to thank you all for all your generous donations.
I have attached the vet bill below so you can see all of what bubba had done.
Also, what we have left to pay before Bubba comes home.
Which is $3,898.17.
Between your donations, Paws 4 R Heroes 501(c)3 nonprofit, and myself in the total of $6,833.00 has already been paid.
I am asking one more time for donations to pay Bubbas final bill of $3,898.17.
You may donate through this go fund me, send directly to the

1-29-23 UPDATE-
I apologize for not updating sooner. I have so much going on. Anyway, I have time now.
Bubba is still at magnolia pet Wellness.
Due to the distance (50 miles each way)to drive him everyday for his treatments it’s easier and cheaper to keep him there.
He has really grown on the staff. I have pictures below that you can see how well he’s doing.
His inside would is the size of a nickel.
His outside wound is the size of a half dollar.
As you’ll see in the pictures where all the new growth is.
He now getting treated with a salve and laser treatment which stimulates growth. As you can see it’s working.
The most recent owed right now is $2,059 for January. Dr B feels in a couple weeks he’ll be able to come home.
1-12-23 UPDATE -
I went and visited Bubba. He is in such happy spirits. He’s still strutting around with his inflatable pillow around his neck and his pre op shirt.
The vet was going to try to stitch together Bubbas outside wound if she had time. It has shrunk enough where there is enough skin to stitch it closed finally. Yay!!
The inside wound unfortunately can’t be stitched. It is shrinking though which is wonderful.
Like I mentioned before, until I can treat the inside wound myself he can’t come home or at least to my house to finish up his healing.
We are still in the need of donations. I have paid up to January 1st with the donations from go fund me, Paws 4 R Heroes account and my own money.
Every bit helps.
I have posted some pictures and videos of Bubba from my last visit. Enjoy them!
1-9-23 UPDATE-
I’m thrilled to say Bubba is doing wonderful!! His dad spent today with him. I will be seeing Bubba tomorrow and get our current bill and updated pictures from the vet.
The plan from here is, as soon as the vet says that I can treat his inside leg wound myself he will be coming to stay with me until he’s completely healed and safe from infection. Then he will be back with his dad.
Bruce has been working on getting his property extra safe for Bubba for when he does come home.
Again your out pour of your kindness is so much appreciated.
I will have more updates for you tomorrow.
Thank you all!
1-4-23 UPDATE-
I went to see Bubba today.
I was so happy to be greeted by a happy boy wagging his tail and wanting neck rubs, sporting a black post op dog shirt with an inflatable pillow around his neck.
All his staples are out and his neck. It looks amazing. He laid down at my feet and just wanted neck rubs. Happy tears came over me.
Every time I see Bubba from the first day I met him with all his wounds till now he puts a smile on my face and happy tears in my eyes.
His personality through this horrific journey he’s been on for three weeks now, the look he gives you. You can see and feel his will to survive.
They no longer have to knock him out to do his bandage changes. It still takes two people to hold him as he’s not a fan of his bandage’s being changed.
The wound on Bubbas inside leg is looking so good. It is slowly shrinking and new flesh has grown. I am so pleased how well it looks. Tendon is covered also. You can see the wound in the new pictures I added.
The wound on Bubba’s outside leg is also healing very well. Bone is slightly still showing though the growth of new flesh has almost completely covered the bone. As you will see in the new pictures, once the wound gets half the size the vet feels she’ll be able to stitch it closed.
This is great news! Inside wound won’t be able to be stitched unfortunately.
I’m happy to say that we are past the point where Bubba could loose his leg.
Dr B is an amazing vet and truly cares so much about her clients. Her team that she has, has also been so amazing with Bubba’s care and giving him attention I know he misses from his dad.
With this much healing since I last saw Bubba I hope he’ll be able to come home in a few weeks or less.
We are still asking for donations to help cover Bubba’s vet bill. At this time his bill is just over 7,000. I will post a picture of his bill tomorrow when they send me a copy.
You are welcome to contact magnolia pet wellness to check on Bubba’s status and to donate under Bubba Chrislip.
Paws 4 R Heroes has been able to donate $1,000 towards Bubba’s bill.
We can’t thank you all enough for all your generous donations.
We still need to reach our goal to be able to pay Bubba’s final bill when we receive it.
Thank you all and bless you.
12-29-22 Update-
Bubba is still in the healing process. His neck has healed up nicely.
His two wounds in his leg unfortunately still have not covered the bone or the tendon that is showing. Which means still a chance of infection and he has to stay at the vet longer.
Owner Bruce has been driving the hour drive to see bubba 3-4 times a week. Being a disabled veteran on a very limited income it has been very hard on him. He knows it helps with Bubbas healing so he is dedicated to helping Bubba and getting him home as soon as possible.
Your donations go completely towards bubbas care. You may donate directly to magnolia pet wellness (information below) any amount will help. Bruce and Bubba appreciate everyone that has contributed so far. He’s speechless on the kinds that has been show.
Thank you and god bless.

Visited with Bubba today. He was a little grumpy. This is day 9 being in the hospital. He’s not happy having to wear the cone of shame.
The vet started laser therapy and manuka honey pads along with the wet/dry packing on his leg wounds. You will see below in the pictures that were taken today how much new tissue has grown. His neck looks wonderful. Staples will come out in five more days.
As long as this treatment keeps going Buddy will be out of the woods on loosing his leg.
This is where we ask everyone to please find it in your heart to donate even a dollar. It adds up.
If we don’t have enough money to keep Bubba at the hospital to recover and get his daily treatments infection can set in and he will loose his leg. He’s already lost one back leg. He can’t loose another.
Thank you all for taking time to read about Bubba and our mission to save him.
Thank you to those who have donated!
Bless you all!
Please have a safe, healthy holiday!
12-21-22 Update-
I’m happy to say Bubba is staying strong and has the will to beat this.
His drains were removed from his neck. The 100+ staples are still there for another week.
His 5” wound on the inside of his elbow is healing nicely. The vet is still packing it with now honey pads to help with the healing and then the wet/dry packing to keep pulling the infection out.
The 5” would on the outside of the same leg unfortunately the bone is still exposed though slowly healing. Infection is still there though not getting worse.
The vet did test Bubba to make sure the antibiotics are working for him. As the body may not except different medications. We’re on the right track.
Bubba’s dad and myself still go in everyday to see Bubba. His dad stays the day with him in his kennel. Bubba curls up on his lap and they just enjoy each others company. We know those moments help keep Bubba happy and help his healing.
Bubba still is staying at the vet for at least 3 weeks to a month. We will know more as time goes on.
Thank you all for your very kind donations!! This all wouldn’t have been possible without you.
Bruce is a disabled veteran, he needs his boy to keep going and come home.
PLEASE SHARE FAR AND WIDE!
Bless you all.
Hi, my name is Pamela Watson, founder of Paws 4 R Heroes a nonprofit 501(c)3. We raise funds to help veterans with their dogs. Either train them for Service Animals, PTSD Animal, Companion Animal. We also help with medical needs.
Bubba is a 7 year old mastiff mix already a tripod who lost part of his back leg from getting caught in a snare trap when he was a pup. Bubba was adopted from the shelter by his current owner who is a disabled veteran.
Bubba was laying in his fenced in yard relaxing enjoying the sun on him.
Three Pitbull’s were able to get their way into Bubba’s yard and attack him. Bubba didn’t have a chance. Bubba’s owner was able to get the dogs away from Bubba with help from a neighbor.
Being a disabled veteran the owner could not afford to take Bubba to the vet so he treated him with antibiotics and Neosporin on his wounds at home.
Owner reached out to me to see if I knew of any veterinarians that would except payments. Unfortunately, there are none. I told him that I do run a nonprofit to help veterans. I offered to call my veterinarian and get Bubba seen asap.
When I met Bubba and his owner I was in shock to see how severe his wounds are.
Bubba went through a 3 hour emergency surgery on his neck and his front leg along with multiple puncture wounds.
Bubba has over a hundred staples in his neck with four drains that needs to be flushed daily.
Bubba has two 4”-5” open wounds on his front left leg.
These wounds need to be wet and dry packed daily.
To make thing less stressful for Bubba it was decided that Bubba is better staying at the veterinary clinic until he has healed enough where the bone that has an infection is healed. Estimated time for that can be 2 weeks to a month. At this time we do not know how long he will need to stay.
At this time Bubba has been at the vet two days. First day surgery second day wounds flushed and packed. Total paid $3500.
Worse scenario if Bubba’s infection does not heal they will have to amputate his leg and then he will need a wheelchair to be able to get around. Funds that we receive will be able to cover a wheelchair if needed. Also a ramp will have to be built for access in and out of Bubba’s home if it comes down to that.
Bubba has shown such a strong will to fight this tragic incident. We won’t give up on him.
We are asking for any donation amount you can spare to help with Bubba’s care.
