Help save Cafe Colonial and the Colony!

Where do we even begin? The last two and a half years have been rough for everyone. Everyone and everything has suffered to some degree, and it feels silly asking for anything at this point as we are all struggling. However, the Cafe Colonial is on the verge of death. If you've been into the Cafe for a show recently or just to have dinner and a drink, you may be confused as to how exactly we're struggling with the amount of support we receive on a nightly basis from the community. And while you're not wrong, the fact of the matter is - we live in a different time now. From crippling insurance costs, which increased 5X from pre-covid, to rising costs of goods, emergency closures lasting months to fix dilapidated plumbing, SBA loan debt throughout covid... We came back from the shutdown already in a hole, and with the price of everything having gone up since then, on top of loan debt and insurance prices, it's a hole that is seemingly impossible to dig out of on our own.

So we're asking for your help. This goal number is honestly only half of what we really need to get ahead, but it would absolutely save the business for the time being. The Colonial complex is an integral part of the Sacramento artistic community, and I am truly scared to see what the city looks like without something like it. If you care for your community, if you care about art and culture in Sacramento, if you care about accessible all ages venues, this is a way to help us save the last true bastion of underground culture in Sacramento.
