Help Save Capella Salon

Capella Salon was first established in Studio City in 1995. We are a big part of the community and we hope that we can continue to stay open so we can service our clients. It is with a heavy heart that we are now asking for help. We have come to the realization that we can't do this on our own. We have had no rent relief from our landlord. He is constantly sending us threatening letters of default. We have tried to apply for loans, grants, PPP, you name it, we've tried it. We keep getting denied. We have now been forced to close our doors for a total of six months, with no end in sight. Our landlord is not giving us any relief and our rent is due! We have complied with all of the states mandatory PPP protocols and our salon is safe. We have installed plexiglass dividers, air filters, mandatory masks at all times, temperature checks, covid questionnaire and we have not had case of covid in our salon! Our salon is spotless at all times because we care for the safety of everyone.
We have lost 13 stylists and we have come to realize that we may not survive this shut down. We want to be able to continue doing what we love and servicing our clients, but the sad reality is, we may not get a fourth chance.
We have been paying our employees because we know that they rely on us for income. The stylists that have stayed to support us deserve a fair chance of making an honest living and we have worked so hard to maintain our business for all of these years.
We are a small, family owned business that is dedicated to providing a very comfortable and welcoming salon that caters to everyone. Over the years we have established our brand as one of the "go to" salons for the natural hair community. We have had the honor of teaching people of all ages to appreciate their natural hair.
We are now asking for help from all of you. We are grateful for the overwhelming support and messages from everyone. We have been asked to create a gofundme because we know that the power of social media and word of mouth can make a difference. These funds will keep our doors open so we can continue to give the best service in a safe environment to our clients. Any donation of any amount will be so helpful and we would appreciate it. If you can't donate, please share our story.
Love,
Shai & Nicole
