Hello my friends, it’s with a heavy heart that I come to you today. It’s been almost 2 years since our world was turned upside down with Covid. In the beginning we struggled a bit and then we were doing better. We were able to get a small PPP loan that covered our employees payroll for two months. We did not qualify for the second round of PPP nor any of the other assistance for small businesses. We were doing ok for almost 2 years. Once the Delta variant arrived, our small business took a nosedive. Where we once had a bustling daily lunch service and busy weekends, we are now empty most days.
We have not recovered from that initial dip.
We, (Caroline & Chad)have utilized every penny of our personal savings, sold almost everything we have of value and maxed out our personal credit cards. We are going into this holiday season with less than 25% of our original business that we used to have. Should we continue on this trajectory with January statistically a slow month, we will have to close our doors. We are a unicorn in the Houston area. We are the only 100% Gluten Free and Sugar Free Restaurant and Bakery in the city and surrounding areas. We cater to those who avoid many allergens such as Gluten, Dairy, Nuts, Eggs, Soy and Sugar. We are a safe place for Celiacs and Diabetics. We have an extensive keto menu. We also serve a need in the vegan & vegetarian community. We bake custom cakes, family sized meals and adhere to strict cross contamination guidelines. We treat each customer as family and help educate where we can and continue learning as we go. We have consistently been there for our community in hard times. It is very difficult to put ourselves out there like this but at this point I have to. I have watched as many of my friends have lost their restaurants and businesses. I can’t go out without a fight. I would prefer for our business to pick up and not have to depend on the kindness of others but we have tried so many things to increase our traffic. At this point we are at a dead end. Literally. I can’t close my doors at Christmas and leave my team out in the cold. They have been with us from the beginning and this is my last ditch effort to keep them with a job and save this restaurant. For all of you who read all of this, thank you. All funds raised will go directly to the business to keep our doors open.
