Help Save Community Staple KARMA BATH CO.

Hi Community,

I am writing this GOFUNDME with a heavy heart but also with determination to help save a local staple of our community, KARMA BATH CO.

It has been brought to my attention that these wonderful women have been facing many challenges and hardships this year. Throughout the last 4 years they have endured some exceptionally difficult situations. It started with a ceiling leak that flooded part of the store on their original opening day which they were responsible for repairing. There is also faulty wiring in their unit which caused their electric bill to be tied to one of the other units FPL was charging for. The KARMA team had been paying this bill unknowingly, and when they found out and confronted their landlord, she refused to reimburse them for a year’s worth of the other tenants electric. They then moved to the larger unit and had the grand reopening March 01, 2020, only to shut down a mere 15 days later and remained closed for almost 6 months due to covid. They have spent close to 3 years recovering from the financial stress due to covid while never raising their prices and fighting to continue stay open regardless of these situations they were struggling with. They have had to replace their AC unit, which was also not reimbursed by their landlord, they’ve made multiple repairs to a leaking ceiling which was also never repaired or reimbursed by their landlord. Flash forward to recent months, the loss of their mom/grandmother, their daughter/sister falling deathly ill, and now to top it all off when renewing the business insurance, they find out that the electrical panels have been outdated since the mid 80's and will cost almost 6 grand to replace. This cost, yet again, the landlord will not pay for, and they are now facing possibility of closing as the landlord has threatened eviction because they are late on the rent.

These wonderful ladies have supported our small business community, as well as the community in general since day one. They host events for crafters, offer free events for the kids during the holidays, support multiple fundraisers and donations to nonprofits and schools, all while they were facing hardships of their own. Despite the circumstances they have endured, they always greet every customer with a warm smile, a welcoming attitude, and the best customer service you could ask for. Now it's time for our community to come together and help support these amazing women and help them save their store, a staple of our community and a safe space for all.

I didn't realize they were facing such significant challenges that threaten their ability to continue operating, and I am reaching out to you all to show support for a great small business that deserves to stay open and not another statistic of a community favorite closing their doors this year.

Despite their best efforts, they NEED our help to navigate through this critical period. It is time for us to come together and show our support for a small business that has gone above and beyond to help and support others in any way they can. Let's show the ladies of KARMA what community is all about and help them overcome these financial challenges so they can continue to be a staple of our beautiful community.
