Dingus McGee's Restaurant has been a beloved part of this community since it was established in 1974, in Colfax. We are family-owned and operated, with a staff of 26. I started with Dingus as a waitress in 1985 and we purchased it in1997. This will be Dingus McGee's 36th Christmas (between the two locations) Many of you know Dave and me, as we have been part of the Auburn community since we were 10 years old. We moved out when I was still in high school, so we are used to taking care of ourselves. Until now..... Throughout this long stretch of covid-19, full and partial closures, we have explored every means possible to stay afloat. This includes grants and loans. We applied for an EIDL, SBA loan and were turned down. With the first round of PPP money being not nearly enough, we find our cash reserves quickly dwindling. We are passionate about this restaurant and its staff. It's difficult to see everything we've worked so hard for, jeopardized. As many of you know, there are other restaurants staying open. We, unfortunately, are not able to do anything except to-go food. We are in the process of obtaining a distillery license here at the restaurant. It means we cannot have any black marks from ABC during the process. So, for us it means staying open is not an option. As you can imagine, with other restaurants open, it means our To-Go business is very minimal. We find ourselves in the uncomfortable position of humbly asking for the community's support to survive this latest stay-at-home closure. Anything helps! Please, please, please share this GoFundMe page. We appreciate your love, thoughts, prayers and support. Danielle
