Help keep Eli's on 1st Ave. OPEN

My name is Trish and I started this gofundme for my very LOVED family member Eli.

 

Elias Medina "Eli" Is a Father of 4, a Fiance, Family and Friend to many.

 

He has been a Barber for 20 years and a business owner since 2004 here in South Phoenix, AZ.

 

Elias, two of his children and Fiance all got hit with COVID back in July.

 

Elias was hit the hardest, he was admitted to the hospital on 7/23/21, the very next day his family had to make the hardest decision and allow the Doctors to perform intubation.

 

Since then, there were days when the doctors were telling us that Eli was not going to pull through, some stressed that there was too much damage to his lungs due to COVID. They said even if he did pull through that his quality of life would not be good. They went as far as saying that Elias would probably remain in a care facility permanently, due to his condition.

 

With so much prayer and standing in faith we continued to believe that no matter what they were saying Elias was in GREATER hands!

 

It is with GREAT joy that I report on 9/01/21 Elias was able to have a tracheotomy, although this may sound just as bad it was a window of opportunity that was given to him and we took it.

 

On 9/16/21 the ventilator was taken out of his room completely!!

 

Elias was able to be moved from the NEURO ICU COVID floor to the NON COVID ICU floor where he is now, until we can get him into a rehab facility.

 

He was finally able to drink after not being able to do that on his own since the day he was intubated. Then moved off of liquids to actually having some solid foods!

 

He is so much farther along than ALL of his doctors said he could ever be! Elias still has some hurdles to climb but he is determined to get his life back and continue his life long passion of being a Barber and most importantly being able to go home to his family.

 

Elias is very strong willed and by the grace of God alone he has come so far!

 

Elias is in need of help from anyone who is willing to donate to help us keep his shop open, this is his dream spot and he worked so hard to get where he is.

 

All of the family has helped with the cost to keep the shop open since July, but now we have come to a point where if we don't ask for help they will close it.

 

The goal we are trying to reach is the EXACT amount for the shop to remain open through January 2022. Elias is confident not only in himself but by his faith that he will be back to doing what he loves by then.

 

We are so thankful to anyone who can donate no matter how much, there isn't an amount that is too little because every bit helps! We appreciate you, Elias appreciates you!
