Help save Finn from liver shunt. Yorkie puppy

Donation protected
His name is Finn. He is five months old and in need of an operation to save his life.
Finn is a Party Yorkie puppy. If you’re familiar with the breed you probably know their sad history and how they’ve finally been allowed to survive.
He came to us (Jean and Dave) about 4 months ago. About a month ago he started having seizures. He’s been to the vet many times since as well as to a Sunday emergency care facility some distance from us.
Lots of tests and blood work. More to come. He isn’t a fan of the vet anymore for sure.
Now we know that it’s a liver shunt. This means that without surgery to correct it he has a very short life expectancy of 2 months to 2 years with medical treatment. He is currently taking 2 steroids, amoxicillin and lactulose. The seizures have dissipated the last few days, but he’s really having trouble eating.
He has to be on a low protein diet. He throws up most things or won’t eat them. He does like hard-boiled eggs, but we have to be very careful that we don’t give him too much. Sometimes he likes heavy cream because it has no proteins. He will nibble at cottage cheese and crushed blueberries. His favorite is hamburger but he can’t have that anymore. We’ve tied multiple kinds of expensive dog food but he’s just not interested.
I had not planned on doing a go fund me, but there have been multiple requests from people. A long time ago. An old pastor friend of mine told me that it was wrong to not allow people to be a blessing. But not offering them the opportunity to be a part of helping others was wrong.
we are in a position where paying for everything out of pocket is going to be a struggle, but with the help of credit cards and savings we could do it alone, but we want to offer you a chance to be a part of saving Finn.
The breeder who sold him to us has promise to refund so that will help. We’ve received another donation as well. I really never thought that people could be so kind to me, my wife and our puppy.
Thank you for taking the time to read this introduction to Finn’s story.
