Help save Headhunters!

Well, this is a little embarrassing, but it’s finally come to this, plain and simple I need help.

I purchased a small retail store on May 9th 2020 at the height of COVID Lockdowns, at the time I wasn’t even allowed to open my door legally until the end of lockdown. I had been couch surfing and unemployed for well over a year and was offered a deal I couldn’t pass up, so I jumped on an amazing opportunity, taking a huge risk with my life savings and a small inheritance from my mom (RIP). Nobody really knew how things were going to end up, but I had a chance to finally make a big dream come true, having my own business! Not only that but the store has been a Long Beach icon for over 30 years ( I was a long time customer lol). I’ve always loved the Belmont Heights are and I’m super happy to be part of the neighborhood. I don’t know how I’ve managed to last this long, but after Covid the sales never really came back. Its been a struggle to say the least…

I have put absolutely everything I have into this, financially and emotionally, at this point I am in serious danger of losing my source of income, my home and my sanity. I don’t have much of a resume, as a semi-professional musician and my work history has been mostly under the table. I wont be getting much social security when I’m a bit older and this feels like my last chance to be a grownup! So don’t really have any other options than to stick it out here and hope for the best. No Pensions or IRA accounts. I’m at work a minimum of 80+ hours a week and losing money every day since May of 2020.

With your help, Ill be able to get caught up with some rent, taxes fees and 100 other things. Get some new merchandise and maybe even fix a few things that are falling apart, but most importantly, keep this little piece of old school Long Beach alive.

I would also be sincerely grateful for anyone willing to help out with organizing and refurbishing, or maybe helping paint the awning over the front door and/or help with a mural on the outside wall, or better yet a business mentor, (I still honestly have no idea what I’m doing) who would be willing to donate a little time and knowledge to help me learn how to run this place a little better. And huge thanks to everyone who’s already pitched in and helped us out in any way at all , I truly love and appreciate every last one of you!
