Help save Jax the rescued GSD
Donation protected
On August 7th 2018 we brought Jax a 1.5yr old German Shepherd into our home from a local rescue. Things seemed to be ok, he had some loose stool, but we figured it was nerves. 2 days later he had full blown diarrhea and by the 6th day he was violently throwing up and stopped eating.
I called our vet who could see him at 11:30 the next morning. Needless to say I brought him in early the next day because he wasn’t doing good, and they didn’t know what was going on with him. They ran tests and couldn’t figure it out. So they wanted to do exploratory surgery to look inside his stomach and throat.
This is where they found he had a toy lodged in his intestine that had been there for a while. The toy had done so much damage they had to remove the piece of damaged intestine. Now he’s in critical condition and we are at a loss.
The vet bills are piling and we are now at a stand still. This was not our fault, and Jax was brought to us with this toy inside of him, now we are held responsible for this astronomical vet bill.
We are a family of 6, with one income, my husband is a disabled veteran, with PTSD and a traumatic brain injury, and wanted to get Jax training to be his service dog.
This is such a hardship to us right now.
I don’t like asking for help, but we need help for Jax. He would have died if we didn’t get him this surgery. And we couldn’t let that happen.
Myself, my husband, and our 4 children have bonded with Jax and he with us. We are hoping he pulls through this rough patch.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for anything that you can do, and will give updates as they come into us.
Thank you..
