Help save Keaton

Donation protected

Keaton was found abandoned in a dumpster at approximately 5 weeks old, starving and severely injured. We nursed him back to health but ultimately it became clear the hip injury thought to have been caused by being hit by a car or being thrown forcefully into the dumpster was much more severe than we realized. As a result Keaton developed a mega colon and couldn’t poop on his own because his pelvis was too narrow. We have been able to assist him with regular enemas but that is not sustainable long term. He is now 6 months old and will need surgery in order to survive. In his short 6 months he has proven to be a fighter, he is extremely affectionate, enjoys bubble baths which is good because with his condition he has had quite a few as not being able to poop normally is a messy business, and he loves playing with our other cats. We’re raising money for this surgery as well as a follow up one he will need 6-12 months later and for all the follow up care after these 2 surgeries. The initial surgery will be to remove half of his pelvis and his right hind leg and the follow up one will be to remove his colon, we are hoping to possibly avoid this one but it will likely be necessary within the year. Any funds raised over and above those needed for Keatons medical care will be used to help save other animals rescued by Anthem Pets Animals Rescue Organization.
