La Terra Bakery & Cafe is a family run small business that was first opened by my mother Monica on September 2013 with a goal to serve the neighborhood with breads and desserts that she would make for her own family. After 7 years in business, our business has been established as the small gem of our neighborhood that serves the best croissants in town.
For the last few months, we have been counting our blessings of being able to keep our business afloat despite the struggles we faced due to the impact of COVID. But now with the holiday season approaching, we are now facing another level of huge hit in our business. We have made the difficult decision to preemptively close our business for the next few weeks as our family member who also lives with the rest of our family have come in close contact with his co-worker who have tested positive for COVID at his job.
Aside from the looming uncertainty of having zero revenue for the next few weeks, our family is devastated by this decision as the holiday season is the most important season of the year for us as a bakery in our community. We are upset that we will not be able to serve our regulars who are counting on us for their birthdays, anniversaries, holidays or simply their daily routine of visiting us. But health and safety of our patrons and ourselves takes priority.
Our hope is that we will be able to humbly ask help from you— our neighbors, friends, and patrons so that we will continue to be able to open our business in the upcoming weeks after we have taken all necessary precautions after our quarantine.
Any help we receive will be put towards keeping our business open and our ovens on in our kitchen. Thank you so much for all your continued support and love for our family business— We hope to see you all again soon.
Best,
