PLEASE HELP LAHNA BATTLE LEUKEMIA

On February 15th, 2022, Lahna Moussaoui was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. ALL Type B (as it is colloquially referred to) is a type of blood cancer more common in young children. Prior to her diagnosis, Lahna was a vibrant and energetic 4-year-old who loved to play house and dress-up with her cousin Bochra same age and hug and kiss her grandparents all day long.
After confirming the devastating news, Lahna was immediately admitted to CENTRE HOSPITALS-UNIVERSITAIRE SERVICE PEDIATRIE Bejaia in an isolated room, where she received her first chemotherapy protocol, which wasn’t easy on her little body to take.
On February 20th, 2022, Lahna underwent many procedures: a spinal tap extracting fluids for testing and injection of chemotherapy into her spinal fluid, a bone marrow biopsy and a procedure to cut 15 cm of her internal intestines due to the lymphoblasts. In addition to these procedures, she received numerous blood transfusions. Doctors confirmed the length of the treatments would be between 2 to 2.5 years, with a bone marrow transplant requirement.
After successfully finishing the first chemo protocol, Lahna started her second treatment on the 14th of April 2022. She has responded very well so far, but her immune system has dropped drastically, and the doctors have suspended the treatment. She is certainly a fighter and a joy spreader to both her parents and the medical staff in the hospital; her hair loss, mood swing and nausea didn’t stop her from asking her mom to dress her well and do her make-up.
Her parents have to be cautious in how they conduct their day-to-day tasks. They sacrificed their careers as they have to attend her every day in the hospital.
The medical board from the hospital suggested she gets her treatment abroad as in Algeria the resources are very limited (we cannot even get an HLA tests done on her and her parents). The cost of a bone marrow transplant is very expensive. We would appreciate it if you could help us cover some of the costs and contribute to saving Lahna’s life.
We feel helpless and believe the least thing we can try to alleviate some of their financial burdens so they could focus on what is most important, baby Lahna and her health. On behalf of Lahna’s family, we are asking for your help. Please donate whatever you can; no amount is too small. We are so fortunate to be a part of such a strong and caring community.
Thank you all so much for your love and support, it means the world to Lahna’s parents and all of us who love her so much.
May God Bless you.
