Hello, my name is Yoshie, I live in the southern US, and I am running this campaign on behalf of Magala Muhshin, who I am friends with. Muhshin is a member of a small group (25 total) of transgender and gay sudanese refugees, currently in Gorom camp. Where they are, prejudice is high, and they face multiple types of abuses -- medically, physically, AND in the job market. They have been assaulted, beaten, and had their shelter ripped up. This prejudice in all fields has made it extremely difficult for them to get money, to get food and water, to get medical treatment, and generally, to live. Their spirits are low -- they NEED our support, now more than ever. Several of their members are HIV positive, and need ARVs, which are expensive, and only supplied by pricy private hospitals. They're roughly $500. They need these to survive. Furthermore, without food and water to take them with, they get sick. They need our help!

Money will be delivered to them through World Remit. Once funds are raised through the campaign, I will accept them to my account and then transfer them to Muhshin through that website. If you would like to donate to her directly, you can actually do the same by making an account through World Remit and asking her directly for her information. I won't put it here for safety reasons, but know it's an option. The money raised by this campaign will get them medical attention, which includes attention for Cholera, HIV, injuries from assault, burns, dental attention, and more. It will also get them food and water, as well as bedding and mosquito nets to protect them from further diseases from unsafe and unfit shelter.

I can personally vouch for this campaign because I have personally spoken to Muhshin, by way of video call, and seen not only the camp, but its borders, and the sign put up by their government that designates it as such. I have seen their torn up shelters, the worn make-shift bedding they lay their sick brothers and sisters to rest on, and been told the stories of the members of the camp first-hand, from their own mouths. One member had to flee their country because their family wanted to take them to the police for being gay. Another member is in great pain because her teeth were broken and chipped when she was physically assaulted by prejudiced people around her. Among their ranks is a baby, only 2, who was badly burned, and has been in a private hospital for several days, which is very expensive. For a time all their group could afford to eat was banana peels. Even getting water is a difficult task. They've gone full weeks without food before. I even have seen that their camp members are beginning to lose their hair due to the malnourishment. They've even lost a few members already. It broke my heart. The part that made me the saddest is that through out all this, all they want is a community to lean on, to share their experiences with, because it's too much for them to bear alone.

Previously, they had a campaign run by someone in Florida, but it was shut down due to that person's home life, and they were no longer able to support this campaign. 490 USD was raised originally, but only 316.12 USD made it to the camp -- not enough to get them the ARVs they need to stay alive. They were able to buy mattresses and mosquito nets to protect their sick members, but they are still not out of the woods, and in dire need of help. As I am the sole owner of my bank accounts, this campaign should not be in any danger of closing due to any personal factors of mine, so any donations should be safe in getting to Magal Muhshin.

As for myself, so you know a bit about who is running this campaign, I am a mechanic in my mid 20s in the southern United States. I draw, knit, whittle, and weave, and, perhaps like you, love my gay and transgender siblings. Please join me in attempting to secure a safe and happy future for them.

Thank you for your time.
