Help Save Luna: A Campo Kitten’s Journey to Survive
Donation protected
Two weeks ago, Luna came into our lives out of the blue, a sweet grey kitten emerging from the woods near our campo house in Ibiza. Unlike the many cats that roam the island, she didn’t just pass by—she stayed. It felt like she had chosen us, and we felt she belonged.
At first, she was shy, watching from a distance as we fed her. But little by little, she grew closer, always near, as if she was trying to gather the courage to fully become part of our home. She was just starting to trust, to feel safe, to settle into our little family.
We’ve always opened our home to animals in need—our four beloved cats, Balu, Mowgli, Simba (whom we adopted last year), and our elder Micha (who also found her way to us from the campo 10 years ago), were all once in need of care and love. Luna was just beginning to find her place among them when tragedy struck.
Yesterday, we found her lying on the outdoor couch, barely moving, meowing softly as if calling for help. When we tried to pick her up, we saw something horrifying—her belly was torn open, her intestines exposed. We rushed her to the emergency vet, fearing the worst. The vet suspects she was attacked by a dog. It was devastating, but there was no question in our hearts—we had to try to save her.
The vet told us her chances were very small. But we knew how strong she was. She had already survived so much on her own, and she had come to us for a reason. We chose to fight for her.
And somehow, she made it through the night.
Luna is still in critical condition. The wound was severe, and she will need time, care, and medical treatment to heal. The estimated cost of her surgery, medication, and recovery is at least €700—but we believe she deserves this chance.
Now, we need your help to bring Luna home.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help cover her medical care and give her the future she was so close to having—the life she chose when she stayed by our side. If you can’t donate, please share her story—because together, we can help her heal and finally welcome her home.
