Help Save Mahmoud’s Family From Gaza

My name is Mahmoud Subh from Gaza, our beloved city that’s been destroyed- life has never been easy here, even before recent events. The blockade only tightened but always existed, and now almost nothing remains, our exact neighborhood is completely leveled to the ground. The bombs are still dropping and last night (27/2/24) came very close to us in Rafah, the supposedly “safe zone”. We are left with no choices, and pushed to limits to come here and ask you to help us re-establish a normal life. I never wished to meet you here nor wish it on my worst enemy! But it’s the only thing that’s giving us hope right now!!

I have been working for eight years in medical field at Alshifa hospital. I saw such horrible days. I worked hard to rescue innocent people before and during the war, but eventually they arrived at the hospital and literally they destroyed everything. I and my family survived several times miraculously, in addition my mother hasn't taken her medication in several months.

It does not make sense for me to wait my turn until I am martyred or attacked in any way, or even against any member of my family. Exiting through the Rafah crossing into Egypt requires about $5,000+ for each family member, therefore, I need emergency assistance for my family in order to evacuate us out of Gaza. My family and I are living in very difficult circumstances in light of the difficult conditions in the war, after each of us had a source of livelihood and we were forcibly displaced from our homes to the south of the Gaza Strip, which staying is very painful in this area- threatened by a military ground operation, and going to our destroyed homes and areas is even more painful.

Hi, I am Xana, Mahmoud’s friend from the UK, and I would like to help him raise these funds to save his family, which includes his 5 young nieces- one of whom is like a daughter to him. Her name is Jana, she is only 7 years old, and she is like a ray of sunshine in this darkness. Mahmoud is only 28 years old himself, and has so much more to do, a future to reunite with. He has asked me to create this link on his behalf as there have been some issues with previous communication, and I am happy to do so. I hope we can get him and his family to safety soon and out of this nightmare. I am quite close friends with him, we talk daily, and would love to meet him one day.
