Makai is a vibrant, joyful, and loving 9-year-old boy who has brought happiness to everyone around him. On December 10th, his life took a tragic turn when he was involved in a freak accident, sustaining burns to 55% of his body. He is now in critical condition, fighting for his life at Goodwill Hospital in Dominica.

Sadly, the entire island of Dominica lacks the advanced medical technology and specialized care needed to treat injuries as severe as Makai’s. To give him a fighting chance, he urgently needs to be transported to a hospital in Martinique or Guadeloupe, where the resources and expertise are available to save his life.
