Help Save Milo: My Beloved Dog Needs Your Support

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out to ask for your support for my beloved dog, Milo. Milo is 10 years old and has been my constant companion through so much. Unfortunately, his health has recently declined—he’s stopped eating and drinking, and he became so dehydrated that he needed IV fluids at the vet.

Despite extensive testing, all of Milo’s blood work and urinary tests came back negative, leaving us without clear answers. The vet administered a strong dose of anti-nausea medication, which has helped him drink some water and eat a little, but he’s still not himself. The next step in his diagnosis was an ultrasound, which cost over $700.

Update: Milo has now had his ultrasound, and the results were heartbreaking. The vet found a mass of tissue, measuring 3.9x3 cm, on the right side of his abdomen, adjacent to a loop of intestine, which they suspect is the cecum. Our next steps include doing a thoracic radiograph to screen for possible metastatic disease and performing ultrasound-guided aspirates of the mass to determine what we’re dealing with. These procedures will cost another $800.

Once we have those results, we’ll need to consult with a specialized surgeon about the possibility of removing the mass, as long as there’s no evidence of it spreading. If it turns out to be cancer, my prayer is that it hasn’t spread and can be fully treated. The other recommendation we received was to consider palliative care, but meaningful improvement is unlikely without removing the mass.

I never imagined I’d be in a position where I have to ask for help, but the truth is, I can’t afford these medical expenses on my own. Milo means everything to me, and it breaks my heart to see him struggle like this. If you’re able to contribute, even just a little, it would mean the world to both of us.
