Help Save Monarch Curl Salon

Since we began in March 2022 in Portland, OR, and relocated to Los Angeles the following August, we’ve been on a mission to empower individuals, especially Black Women, with tight curls. We provide a wealth of knowledge, experience, and skills to embrace natural beauty confidently. We’ve guided hundreds in caring for and styling their curls sustainably and economically, empowering them to enter important spaces with pride in their hair in its happy natural state.

The rising overhead costs of operating the space are increasingly exacerbated by inflation, threatening this mission. We’ve been pouring our hearts into keeping the spirit of Monarch Curl Studio alive, but we’re facing our most harrowing tribulation to date.

Today, we must look to you, our incredible community, for urgent support. We need your help to keep the magic of Monarch Curl Studio alive. We must raise $25,000 to keep our sanctuary afloat. Your generous contributions will go towards:

• Rent and utilities to keep our cozy space welcoming

• Continuing education to keep our curl care services top-notch

• Inventory for our service back bar and retail products

• Development of empowering workshops and courses

Monarch Curl Studio is more than a salon; it’s a community, a hub for learning, empowerment, and embracing our natural selves. It’s where we Monarchs learn to care for our curls without conforming to restrictive “curl types.”
