Help save my kids' lives. Evacuate us from Gaza
Donation protected
Hi, this is Abdallah. I reside in Philadelphia, PA. I'm taking the initiative to organize Najwa's campaign, due to GoFundMe's geographical restrictions concerning her location. All donations will be forwarded directly to Najwa. Please support if you can, any amount, however small can bring them to safety.
Hello to humanity all over the world. My name is Najwa Al Agha. I am a wife and mother of three children from the Gaza Strip in Palestine.
I am launching this campaign to seek help to evacuate my beloved family from the horrors of the war zone, and to get them to a safer place. We tragically lost our home, all sources of income, our children’s future and even our sense of security.
My family: Myself (Najwa, 29), my husband (Obaye, 36) and our three sons Sufian (7), Yaman (5), and baby Zaid (6 months).
Currently, my family is staying in Rafah, after our home in Khan Younis was bombed and we were forced to flee. Since October, we have been continuously displaced from one place to another, desperately seeking shelter, food, and safety.
My husband and I took pride in our careers and our ability to sustain our growing family. Before the birth of my youngest, Zaid, I used to work as a substitute teacher. My true passion is owning and operating an online gift store called Go Gift, featuring prepackaged stationary and gifts as well as my own handicrafts.such as embroidery and paper cards.
My husband Obaye works as an employee and has no job to return to. Our financial situation has reached a crisis point. On a daily basis, Obaye struggles to secure the most basic necessities to survive: clean water, nutritious food, clothing, medicine. With resources so scarce, the cost of these items are beyond what we can afford. All of our savings have been depleted trying to secure the most basic things our kids need to survive.
My two young sons, Sufian and Yaman, constantly question my husband and I why we are scared and why this is happening to us. They asked me if there are places to go to in the world that are without war. At first, I was assuring them that things will calm down and peace will return to us in a week. But the reality is harsh.
Our dog Rex (4 years old) has been missing since December. Because we were forced to flee for safety, we were not able to look for him. I fear that he was killed in the bombing. Even after moving from one shelter to another several times, the kids still ask me where Rex is and whether he has enough food and water. Rex was beloved by our family. They have already suffered so much and I do not have the heart to take this hope away from them.
Sufian, our oldest, constantly asks when he will return to his school and see his friends. I tell him that hopefully peace will return and he will go back and be reunited with everyone. It is too painful to tell him that his school was bombed and that he won’t be able to return to study this year.
Every day, I’m trying to create little moments of joy with my kids, whether it’s by letting them draw, playing games, or just cuddling and talking about their dreams for the future.
My infant baby Zaid (6 months old), who was born just before the war, is unfortunately suffering from flu and a severe cough due to the polluted environment. Moreover, the circumstances have prevented him from being able to receive a regular medical check-up and vaccinations, as well as basic needs like diapers and formula normally accessible from the local health center.
We have lost our house, all of our belongings, and our sources of income due to the war. We are homeless. The situation in Rafah and Gaza as a whole remains dangerous and terrifying. Currently, more than one million Palestinians are crammed into this tiny town, struggling to grasp what life is.
For many days we have been searching for a safe place to shelter away from Rafah, with no luck. Every area is targeted. There is simply nowhere safe to go.
The financial burden of arranging our evacuation through the Rafah/Egypt crossing is now the main obstacle to our safety. I humbly ask for your compassion and generosity. Every single bit isn’t just a donation: it’s a new hope for me and my family to create a better life in which we support each other as partners and continue to thrive
.
Money raised will be used for border crossing fees, transportation, temporary accommodations in Egypt and GoFundMe fees.
The majority of your support will be used to pay for special permits for the Egyptian border crossing. The cost for two adults and my three children will be $17,500. It costs $5000 per adult and $2500 per child. The rest of the money will be used to help my family settle in Egypt for the next 6 months. We estimate our living costs in Egypt to be $2000 per month, totaling $12,000, with an additional $1,000 allocated for transportation.
If you cannot donate, please share this with family, friends, and community members.
Thank you from the depths of my heart for your kindness.
