Help Save Ope, Jibòla, Korede and Oyindamola.

Hi my name is Miracle and I want to raise £2000 to help support four children in Nigeria. The money will go towards providing food, shelter and education to four children, named Ope, Jibola, Korede and Oyindamola currently living in Nigeria with their mum in a flooded wooden shack and in squalor.
I got interested in their story when my younger sister started teaching the children Sunday school class. Every Sunday we would discuss our experiences at church, and she would tell me about these 4 children who went to church in tattered clothes, no shoes, and even when one of them went with shoes, they were turn and beyond repairs. During Sunday school, she would hear their stomachs growling and when she asked they would say they ate the afternoon of the previous day (Saturday).
At the close of church, instead of going home, the children would linger behind to search for food in the bins because they have no food at home. Now that the rain has started falling, their place is flooded. They sleep and wake up in water. I can’t even start to imagine how they do it. They are the poorest of the poors. There are being bitten by mosquitoes and other bugs including rats. They have no clean drinking water. They do their ‘sanitary business’ in the water outside their home. When it rains heavily, they leave their home to take shelter in uncompleted buildings with no windows and doors, further placing them at risk to kidnappers, rapists, and people with criminal intent. They are also at risks of death from diseases.
Through my sister, who is a trustworthy and honest person, I have been able to cater for the basic needs of the children and their mom who also attends the church. We initially started with buying snacks for them on Sundays, and then we extended it to foodstuffs. Because the children were wearing just that one cloth and were almost like a pariah to other kids, my sister took them shopping at second hand markets for clothes and shoes. This has helped improve their confidence and they are now able to mix freely with other kids.
However, much more needs to be done for them and we need support from other kind-hearted individuals.
The mother of these children was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure and she needs money for her medication. She works as a cleaner, but with her low wages, never has enough to feed her children not to talk of buying life-saving medication. She withdrew Jibola (13) from school to go learn ‘mechanic work’ for 3 years, after which he would be the breadwinner for the family. Ope (16) has been in and out of school. Korede (10) stays at home. Oyindamola (7)’s education is being sponsored by a member of the church so he could remain in school to enable the mother go to look for a cleaning job.
With your support, it is our hope that all the children would resume school in September. To close the gaps in their education, I am paying for them to attend summer schools as well as have a private teacher to give him intensive lessons on Fridays and Saturdays.
The money we are seeking to raise will go towards the following:-
1. To pay for all the children’s school fees for I year.
2. To build a more secure wooden home on a higher ground where floodwater can not get into.
3. To set up a small food business for their mother, and buy a shop on wheels to sell her food.
4. To set up an account for miscellaneous needs such as food, clothes and medical needs.
I believe that every child is a child of God and have the abilities to succeed, progress if given a chance. These 5 individuals are in desperate need of that opportunity.
All the money I am collecting will be sent to my sister who will support this family to accomplish all the tasks listed above.
God bless you for your help.
