Help save our baby Meko

Hi, I'm Jessica. Friday evening when I got home from work our dog Meko's back legs were paralyzed. We believe that he tried to jump the gate and landed on his spine. We rushed him to the University of Illinois Veternary teaching hospital. When we arrived he had stopped breathing. He was put into an incubator and had a tube put down his throat. They wanted to do an MRI but couldn't without giving him a trachea tube. Once they put the trachea tube in and were able to do an MRI they found that he had IVDD. (Intervertebral disc disease) They were able to straighten his spine and do the surgery on him for the IVDD. The Surgery went well. The doctor said that when she touches he's back legs he responds to it now. It's 50/50 on if he will be able to walk again. We've spent every dime that we have to pay for all this. We had to pay upfront before they did the first surgery. We got a call from the doctor this evening to let us know that after evaluating  him she  doesn't believe that he will be able to breathe on his on if they take the breathing tube out because of an obstruction. So, now they want to do an operation on him to give him a wider airway so he can breathe. They are saying the surgery costs another $7,000. They pretty much told us we had to make a decision (come up with the money)  in a couple days or they wont do the surgery. He's only 3.  We love our baby boy so much!  Anything would help. Shares and prays if nothing else. ❤️
