Help Save our Kelvin
This is Kelvin. He is our husband, big brother, nephew, friend and son, a very important human being in our lives.
Kelvin Agyemang is 28 and it is way too young to die from cancer.
We, his family and friends hope you will read this and get a deeper understanding of him and his value in the world.
We want you to know why we need him and why he is our hero.
Kelvin was born and raised in Ghana. His father died when he was 7 so growing up, he became the father figure with responsibility for his 4 younger siblings.
Kelvin has been working 13 hours a day, 7 days a week from a young age in many jobs among them as a chef. That made him able to bring home leftover food for his mother and siblings. Coming home, making fun and bringing smiles and hope everyday.
Kelvin is also an Artist who is deeply founded in his own roots.
He inspires his co-creators to produce music that focuses on human rights, freedom, knowing one’s own culture and creating fruitful relations internationally. He stands for a world with no fear for the unknown and promotes a Ghana that people want to move to, not away from. Exatly that kinda hope we need in Africa. People who stay and fight.
We are crying daily seeing our Kelvin in pain now on-going for almost a year.
We thought we knew suffering before this. But seeing someone you love crying and screaming week after week, month after month, has changed everything in us. For all of us. We decided to take action.
It took time to convince Kelvin to go on GOFUNDME. He has taken great pride in not begging for anything his whole life.
But we his family convinced him because we need him alive. And therefore we are now on GOFUNDME and therefore you are now reading about Kelvin.
Kelvin has been diagnosed with a very rare and agressive form of sarcoma cancer. Synovial spindel celle soft tissue sarcoma. Very few doctors in the world have seen and worked with this malicious cancer form. Only very few have worked with this kinda cancer repeatedly. And almost no one in Africa.
It all started with small pain in the leg in 2021. In 2022 Kelvin had severe pain from a very big sarcoma that had eaten one of his calf muscles. They took out both the muscle and the turmor. He was finaly diagnosed after doing a biopsy in March 2023 following surgery.
They started him on a very strong chemotherapy but it wasn’t the right one for his cancer. He suffered a lot that month and the sarcoma reoccured as they often do, now even more agressive and it spread to his lungs. Now he has been diagnosed with sarcoma cancer stage 4 with a melon sized, extremely painful tumor on his leg.
He can’t walk, he can’t sleep, he can’t take care of any of his needs.
We have been to all hospitals in Ghana and there are no sarcoma experts to find. None. Finding a specialist is essential and vital for sarcoma patients especially since it is such a rare and complicated cancer.
If we have access to the right expertise, they can save our Kelvin. If we go to the right place he will have 70 % chance of complete recovery. If we don’t the prognosis is very, very bad.
We know some of the most advanced sarcoma hospitals are in the USA, Germany, Sweden, India and China. From where we live, a hospital in China would be the most affordable and he would have access to some of the best treatments in the world.
In China, they work with some of the biggest and most agressive tumors and successfully remove them.
The doctors are highly educated and experienced with exactly the type of sarcomas Kelvin has.
We hope, we humbly ask as reach out to the world, please help Kelvin. Please help this young man to survive.
We have been studying the cost all included. We pray to get your help to raise 200.000 ddk. The money will cover travel expenses, hospital bills, medicine, recommendations and recovery time at a sarcoma specialised hospital in China.
If you can’t support with money, we hope you will please share and spread this GOFUNDME page so as many as possible will get to see it.
We don’t have a lot of time left .
And your sharing could be an opportunity for more readers and support. Thank you.
