HELP SAVE OUR MUMS LIFE- 3 MONTHS TO LIVE!

Donation protected
Dear friends and compassionate souls,

In the midst of our mother’s courageous battle with stage 4 cancer, we are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits.

Mum, a pillar of strength and love, has faced an arduous journey, filled with misdiagnoses, overlooked symptoms, and a devastating revelation of aggressive cancer spread. Despite undergoing surgeries, infections, and lymphoedema, Mum's life expectancy has now reduced to 3 months at only 56 years of age.

Yet again, the same mistake was made with our mum, Rita, as she was overlooked and left to manage on her own without any urgency. It wasn’t until a severe chest infection (in our case a blessing in disguise) at the beginning of 2024 when Mum was suddenly awoken from her sleep struggling to breathe, coughing, and later not being able to eat or talk without getting out of breath. Mum was rushed into hospital where MRI and CT scans were done, and the results were devastating. We were then informed the cancer had spread around the kidneys and caused lesions in the lower back and lungs. As a result, Mum's life expectancy drastically dropped from up to a year to only 3 months. It’s important to mention that if this didn’t happen, we would’ve had to wait till the end of January 2024 for this scan, despite demanding it in December 2023, meaning that we would’ve found out this information much later and giving us less time to take action and save our mums life.

The NHS can no longer provide the treatment she desperately needs. Dendritic Cell Therapy offers a glimmer of hope, a chance to extend Mum's time with us and continue the love and warmth she has always shared. The earliest appointment available for the treatment is the 4th of February so, we desperately need everyone’s support to try to reach our target as quickly as we can. Furthermore, this treatment is in Germany, and with the cancer spreading into our mum’s bones and into her lower back, she is now immobile, and bed-bound resulting in the need to hire a private ambulance for travel there and back which is very costly.

This has been the most heart-wrenching and heartbreaking journey of our lives; we have tried to starve the cancer by putting our mum on a strict ketogenic diet and using alternative medicine, but treatment is urgent and critical.

Our mother, Rita, a source of unwavering love and wisdom, and just like every other mum, dreams of witnessing her children achieve different milestones life offers, watching her grandchildren grow, and continue making memories. We are heartbroken, scared, and united in our plea to save our mum.

The total cost including 2 treatments, private ambulance transport, and hiring private nurses and doctors, in Germany, to provide care for our mum and a better quality of life is £67k.

Any medical reports needed are available upon request. Your support means more than words can express. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to affording this life-saving treatment. Together, let us be the strength Mum needs in this challenging time.

Time is of the essence, and with your generosity, we can rewrite Mum's story. Thank you for being the beacon of hope our family desperately clings to.

Time Line of Events:
  • Mid 2021- Mum exhibited cancerous symptoms but they were ignored, leading to the administration of ineffective creams.
  • May 2022- Diagnosis of Vulva cancer. Unfortunately, misinformation followed with a nurse incorrectly stating the MRI showed no signs of cancer leading to a premature celebration and subsequent devastating revelation of stage 1 cancer.
  • June- Dec 2022- 2 surgeries.
  • August 2023- severe lymphoedema diagnosis and despite ongoing pain, A&E visits were unhelpful.
  • September 2023- DVT diagnosis (nerve damage) and concerns were raised as the lymphoedema was the worst case a consultant has seen.
  • November 2023- Stage 4 cancer with palliative care.

The journey to diagnosis spanned approx 8 months, during which treatment was not offered despite the aggressive nature of the cancer. Mum's persistent concerns were dismissed and lymphodema was left untreated. No PET scans were conducted after the second operation, denying us crucial information. It is now in our hands to save our Mum.

Blessings to all, Om Sai Ram.
