Help Save Our Red Phone Box

Donation protected
Frogmore  could be about to lose its iconic red phone box for ever!

We have a small window of opportunity to save this icon of the village and we need YOUR help in order to do it

Currently, it has been removed, as it stood on a now privately-owned piece of land

We need to raise funds urgently to have it renovated and returned to the village, on a site accessible to all, so that it can function as a community resource

If you would like to see Frogmore’s iconic red phone box, expertly renovated, standing proudly in our village, for community use, then please consider donating.  All donations will be gratefully received, however small

How the money will be used:
We need to raise £3,500 in order to buy the phone box from BT and to provide a new serviced site. BT’s contractors have taken it away for full factory refurbishment, to bring it back to its former glory, ready to be placed in a suitably prominent position in the village. A freehold site close to the Village Hall has been earmarked

Why should we save it?
• To preserve our British heritage and an iconic village landmark
• For community use..... You might like the idea of a book/jigsaw exchange in the
village or a plant exchange or somewhere to sell homemade cakes/preserves/ chutneys or even a place to display ad’s or your/your children’s/grandchildren’s art?
• Imagine the pleasing sight of a shiny red community phone box in the heart of the village, providing a place to meet with others outdoors

Who can contribute?
• All who are interested in preserving Frogmore’s past and looking to its future
• Anyone wanting to support the local community, whether residents of Frogmore or those living in the surrounding area or who drive through the village on a regular basis.
• You might be someone who has fond memories of a holiday spent here
• You might be an occasional visitor

Managing the Project
A volunteer community group of Alison Balasingam, Peter Hadley and Gethin Thomas, has been formed to safeguard and manage the project, with the backing of the local Parish Council

Note: Unfortunately, our Frogmore phone box was not eligible for BT’s pre- refurbishment ‘Adopt a Kiosk for £1’ scheme because BT had sold the site on which it stood
