Dear friends, family, and compassionate souls,

It is with a heavy heart that we write to you today, on behalf of our sister Kristina. Our beloved sister, Kristina, had been plagued with debilitating migraine types of headaches for the past couple of months until they became unbearable, and doctors discovered a tumor. On the 1st of February Kristina, at just 43 years young, underwent an open brain biopsy and unfortunately has been diagnosed with Astrocytoma Stage 4, a devastating and the most aggressive form of Brain Cancer. As you can imagine her and our family's lives have been turned upside down by this cruel illness. This diagnosis has shaken our world to its core, but amidst the fear and uncertainty, we are determined to fight with every ounce of strength we have.

Astrocytoma diagnosis has brought immense uncertainty and fear into Kristina's and our lives, but amidst the chaos, one thing remains certain: our love and determination to fight alongside Kristina every step of the way. As she grapples with the harsh reality of her diagnosis, her caring husband Jose has become her full-time caregiver overnight, tending to her every need with unwavering devotion.

In addition to being a loving wife, Kristina is also a devoted mother to her 13-year-old son Alejandro, who is grappling with the heartbreaking reality of his mother's illness. As a family, we are doing everything in our power to provide stability and support for Kristina, Jose, and their son Alejandro during this unimaginably difficult time.

As we navigate the uncertain road ahead, they will be faced with overwhelming medical expenses, specialized care, possible future clinical trials, supportive therapies, and everything in between. We cannot do it alone, we need your help to give Kristina the fighting chance she deserves. *

Kristina has bravely undergone 6 weeks of chemotherapy & radiotherapy and even though she was extremely weak at the end of it, she did manage to complete it. During that time she also underwent 3 blood transfusions to help with her platelets.

With the advice from her Oncologists, we are now looking into various therapies that would help her regain her strength. One of the main Immonotherapies is called Dendritic Cell Therapy which involves using cells from the human immune system to activate the body to fight cancer. These cells are received from the patient's blood and sent to the laboratory for “reconfiguration”. They are then returned to the patient in the form of a vaccine. This will come at a huge cost of €30000. Other therapies will include Hyperbaric Medicine (Oxygen Therapy), she will need 10-40 sessions at €150 per session + IV It C Infusions at €150 per session. She will also need extra Physical medicine & rehabilitation, psychotherapy and more.

Our sister is not just a patient; she is a fighter, a mother, a wife, a daughter, an aunt, a friend, and a beacon of light in our lives. She deserves every chance at life, every opportunity to control this disease and come out on the other side stronger than ever. But we cannot do it alone. We need your help to give her the fighting chance she deserves.

Mi nombre es Guoda y mi hermano Jurgis se acerca a ustedes hoy con el corazón apesadumbrado y pidiéndoles ayuda. Nuestra querida hermana, Kristina, había estado plagada de migrañas debilitantes durante los últimos meses hasta que se volvieron insoportables y los médicos descubrieron un tumor. El 1 de febrero, Kristina, con sólo 43 años, se sometió a una biopsia cerebral abierta y desafortunadamente le diagnosticaron Astrocytoma en etapa 4, una forma devastadora y más agresiva de cáncer cerebral. Como puedes imaginar, su vida y la de nuestra familia se han visto trastornadas por esta cruel enfermedad. Este diagnóstico ha sacudido nuestro mundo hasta lo más profundo, pero en medio del miedo y la incertidumbre, estamos decididos a luchar con cada gramo de fuerza que tengamos.

El diagnóstico de Astrocytoma ha traído una inmensa incertidumbre y miedo a la vida de Kristina y a la nuestra, pero en medio del caos, una cosa sigue siendo segura: nuestro amor y determinación de luchar junto a Kristina en cada paso del camino. Mientras lidia con la dura realidad de su diagnóstico, su cariñoso esposo José se ha convertido de la noche a la mañana en su cuidador de tiempo completo, atendiendo todas sus necesidades con devoción inquebrantable.

Además de ser una esposa amorosa, Kristina también es una madre devota de su hijo Alejandro, de 13 años, quien está lidiando con la desgarradora realidad de la enfermedad de su madre. Como familia, estamos haciendo todo lo que está a nuestro alcance para brindar estabilidad y apoyo a Kristina, José y su hijo Alejandro durante este momento inimaginablemente difícil.

A medida que avanzamos por el incierto camino que nos espera, se enfrentarán a gastos médicos abrumadores, atención especializada, posibles ensayos clínicos futuros, terapias de apoyo y todo lo demás. Kristina se sometió valientemente a 6 semanas de quimioterapia y radioterapia y, aunque al final estaba extremadamente débil, logró completarla. Durante ese tiempo también se sometió a 3 transfusiones de sangre para ayudar con sus plaquetas.

Con el consejo de sus oncólogos, ahora estamos investigando varias terapias que la ayudarían a recuperar sus fuerzas. Una de las principales inmunoterapias se llama terapia con células dendríticas, que implica el uso de células del sistema inmunológico humano para activar el cuerpo para combatir el cáncer. Estas células se reciben de la sangre del paciente y se envían al laboratorio para su "reconfiguración". Luego se devuelven al paciente en forma de vacuna. Brangūs draugai, šeima ir gailestingos sielos,

Su sunkia širdimi mes rasome siandien, Kristinos vardu. Mūsų mylima seseri Kristina pastaruosius porą mėnesių kankino varginantys migreniniai galvos skausmai, kol jie tapo nepakeliami, gydytojai aptiko auglį. Vasario 1 d. Kristinai, būdama vos 43 metų, buvo atlikta atvira smegenų biopsija ir, deja, jai buvo diagnozuota 4 stadijos Astrocytoma – niokojanti ir agresyviausia smegenų vėžio forma. Kaip galite įsivaizduoti, jos ir mūsų šeimos gyvenimą ši žiauri liga apvertė aukštyn kojomis. Ši diagnozė sukrėtė mūsų pasaulį iki galo, tačiau baimės ir netikrumo apsuptyje esame pasiryžę kovoti visomis jėgomis.

Astrocytomos diagnozė įnešė į Kristinos ir mūsų gyvenimus didžiulį netikrumą ir baimę, tačiau tarp chaoso vienas dalykas išlieka tikras: mūsų meilė ir pasiryžimas kovoti kartu su Kristina kiekviename žingsnyje. Kai ji grumiasi su atšiauria diagnozės tikrove, jos rūpestingas vyras Chosė per naktį tapo jos globėju visą darbo dieną ir su nepaliaujamai atsidavimu tenkina visus jos poreikius.

Be to, kad Kristina yra mylinti žmona, ji taip pat yra atsidavusi mama savo 13-mečiui sūnui Alejandro, kuris grumiasi su širdį veriančia motinos ligos realybe. Ji nusipelno kiekvienos galimybės gyvenime, kiekvienos galimybės suvaldyti šią ligą ir išeiti iš kitos pusės stipresnė nei bet kada. Bet mes negalime to padaryti vieni. Mums reikia jūsų pagalbos, kad suteiktume jai galimybę kovoti, kurios ji nusipelnė.
