Help save our sweet Saint Bernard

Spende geschützt
Andrew and I met Lucy at the animal shelter I work at when she was 5 months old. When Andrew met Lucy it was love at first sight. She has always been a great source of joy and companionship to our family. When Andrew and I decided to merge families Lucy instantly took to my German Shepherd, constantly by his side and playing with him in the yard.

Andrew is a small business owner of a food truck Rock N Lobster Roll it is his passion and he absolutely loves what he does although with most small businesses in their first years, most of the money made goes back into the business to continue growth.

I work at a local non profit animal shelter and live paycheck to paycheck in order to do something I love, saving animals. I see the situation we are currently in every single day and sympathize with the people going through loving their animal but being unable to afford the care they need.

On November 21st I came home from work to finding Lucy was unable to go to the bathroom. She would go outside, lay down and have trouble standing back up. Andrew was still out working on the food truck, I called him crying to tell him something was wrong with Lucy and we were on our way to the Emergency Vet. Andrew closed up the food truck to come be with Lucy while they did testing. The vets did X-rays. Lucy, is a  sweet, loving, goofy, Saint Bernard  and was diagnosed with Lumbosacral Disease.  Its a degenerative disease of the spine.  We were told that the disease would come in flare ups, and would be easily treatable with pain medication.  In the midst of Lucy's second flare up, the pain was so excruciating for her, even on pain meds, she can't walk, or lay down without screaming in constant pain.  We rushed her to the Emergency Vet on New Years eve.  Currently she is on a catheter to try and help her extreme pain and will be staying overnight.  Lucy will be seeing a Neurologist, and will be receiving MRIs to figure out how to treat this disease. The MRI alone cost $3,500.00 and this is before she receives any kind of treatment.  The cost of keeping her in an Emergency Animal Hospital is more then we are able to handle.  Please help us get our sweet 4 year old dog back to her full health. All money will go to Lucy's treatments because everything happened so suddenly we are scrambling to afford whatever Lucy needs.

Lucy hasn't been herself since the diagnosis. She just lays in her kennel in pain, her tail doesn't wag, she won't play with her best bud anymore. Her sweet personality is gone. It is absolutely heart breaking.

Please help us figure out what is going on with Lucy and help us get her back to her usual happy, goofy self.  Anything helps.
