Help Save Piecemakers: A Community Sanctuary
Donation protected
- My name is Krista and I am doing this GoFundMe for a place near and dear to my heart. I have been around Piecemakers since 1978 when it started in a closet which stored a few bolts of fabric. Some women who were bestowed a God gifted talent to sew would get together to pray, eat and sew. Beautiful custom quilts were being put together, just like in the early days of America when women would get together over a quilt and have community with each other.
- Piecemakers founder, Marie Kolasinski, knew that this place would be a sanctuary, refuge, haven, retreat and more for the people.
- Piecemakers business is not only each and everyone's livelihood, but it reaches far beyond this vineyard God has given to take care of. It is a community of friends, a place you can come to learn, create, make new friends or join up with old ones for lunch or tea and coffee.
- Piecemakers story started in 1978 and has weathered through some good times and some not so good times. This is one of the latter. They have been defending a lawsuit ensuing for years and Judgment has been entered in an astronomical amount of $5million that it cannot possibly satisfy. Piecemakers needs help from our community.
- Years ago, they took in a woman along with her baby. They housed them, clothed and fed them, provided childcare along with all their other needs. Piecemakers gave them an opportunity to be a part of their family, expecting nothing in return.
- This woman came and left four different times with years of absence in between, but always came back to Piecemakers. After the last time she left, she filed a lawsuit against Piecemakers seeking compensation and other damages for the time she spent with them.
- We appreciate and need your support to help Piecemakers get through these difficult times..
