Help Save Quaint & Quirky a Family Owned Business
Thanks so much for taking the time to read our story. As a family we had dreams to work together and those dreams were coming true the beginning of 2020. In January we signed a lease to open a store in Short Pump. We set the date for our Grand Opening for March 21st 2020. Our dream on top of working together as a family was to bring the community together by offering a store that is almost 100% handmade and local. We searched all over VA for small business to help give them a platform to grow and provide for their families.
We were so excited and everything was coming together but the week of our Grand Opening was the week the state started to close down. We had no idea what this meant for our business and if and when we'd be able to open. After learning we were allowed to be open with limited customers the only choice we had was to move forward. The bills don't stop if the doors are closed. So we opened as planned. We've had a least one customer everyday and as the state has slowly opened back up we have seen more traffic.
We have looked into all the small business loans/grants that have/are being offered and unfortunately we don't qualify for any of them because we are a new business. We have tried everything we possibly can as a family and a business to keep our dream alive but we can't do it alone. Our bills keep stacking up and we just can't seem to get ahead no matter what we do.
As a family it is important for us to be honest and vulnerable with each other as well as our customers, friends and family. This was a very tough decision and we have been debating it for a while now. We know that if for whatever reason we had to close and didn't share honestly about how we were struggling as a business that our customers, friends and family would be sad and disappointed that we didn't ask for help.
So here we are asking for your help to keep our dream alive as well as the dreams of all of our artisans. When you shop with us you are helping to support over 50 families in your community.
