HELP SAVE SQUISHIES ANIMAL RESCUE!

Squishies Flat Faced Animal Rescue is currently in crisis. We have spent over $8k in the last week on emergency vets ALONE!!! We have NO money and over 30 animals currently in care. Today we had to borrow several thousand dollars to be able to bring home Birdy, a cat we have spent over $6000 on and who is the cat we brought down from NSW over the weekend. We paid over $1000 to have a dental done on this brave, senior girl in NSW, where she was surrendered last month. 3 weeks later, Birdy went off her food and became lethargic. This set off a chain of events that led to a 24-hour, $1800 emergency stay in ICU in Newcastle and the discovery that poor Birdy’s jaw was fractured. She has since had over $4,000 of ICU treatment and specialist surgery in Melbourne to wire her jaw, in the hopes of repairing the fracture.

We have SO many other animals in care and waiting to come into care and we are drowning.

Squishies is at financial breaking point. We are still facing vet and specialist bills in excess of $5k in the next couple of weeks, in addition to the $8k we’ve spent on emergencies and the $3600 on basic vet care we’ve spent for our dozens of kittens in the past few weeks.

If Squishies cannot raise a significant amount of money by the end of the month, we will have no choice but to close our doors indefinitely, to focus on fundraising and rehoming the 30+ animals we already have in care.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!! WE WILL HAVE TO CLOSE OUR DOORS FOREVER!!!

For those who are not aware, Squishies has been significantly financially propped up by its founder from the day it began. This has been from her one and only inheritance and was intended as a house deposit. All of this money has now been put into the rescue. There is no more “back up” money, no more “emergency fund”, no more “I don’t need to buy ‘x’, I’ll just use the money for the rescue.” From this point on, Squishies needs to financially support itself as its founder is broke.

Not only is she broke, but she and all the Squishies volunteers are so tired, so exhausted and feel so helpless but still have so, SO many animals to care for and stay strong for. We need help. We need YOUR help and unfortunately, the only way you can help us keep our doors open is to donate money. We just don’t know how else to ask/beg/explain. If the thousands of people who we’ve helped, who have adopted from us, who enjoy our content and who appreciate the work that we do, would just donate a little bit each, that’s all it would take, but it needs to be EVERYONE! Please don’t think everyone else will do it, you, reading this right now, we need YOU to help us, please.
