Help Save Suffern Youth Football and Cheer
On behalf of the Board of Directors for Suffern Youth Football and Cheer, located in Suffern, New York, we need your help. Suffern Youth Football and Cheer, a Pop Warner organization, is a staple in our community for kids 5 and up to learn the fundamentals of football and cheer in a safe and fun environment.
On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, our field house, which houses our equipment rooms and snack stand, was ravaged by the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Flood waters from the nearby Mahwah River left our fields and building standing in over 5 feet of water for days. As a result, nearly every piece of equipment we had as an organization, including pads, helmets, balls, practice padding, jerseys, audio equipment, furniture, a refrigerator, a freezer, and kitchen equipment were all a complete loss. Unfortunately, our insurance policy doesn't cover flood damage.
Just a few weeks into our season, and with our games about to get underway, we are hoping that the community can help us get back on our feet with any support you may be able to offer. The kids have worked hard the last 4 weeks to prepare for a great season, and we hope to deliver one for them, and all of our future athletes and families for years to come.
