Help us save Summer’s life (Diaphragmatic hernia)

Hi, my name is Alejandra Cardenas I’m raising funds for my brother, and his family for their loving dog Summer. On June 13, 2023 a sweet dog followed my brother, Wilder home on his morning run. This dog was very abandoned, her hair was super matted and she was very skinny. The dog instantly made a connection with wilder and the family. They took her to the vet and checked her for a chip. The dog was chipped but no information was registered. So they decided to rescue her and take her to the groomer. The groomer informed them that the dog was in really bad shape and that she probably had been in the streets for over 7 months. It took them six hours to get her groomed. The dog instantly made herself at home, some say she specifically choose this family and I agree. They called her Summer! My niece, Avril and Luke quickly grew found of Summer. For all those who know Avril, her dream has always been to have a dog, she has an immense love for animals. Summer was the perfect fit, she was the missing piece of the puzzle. She is loving, playful, kind and full of life. She was instantly loved, pampered and cared for. She has been a help and comfort for Avril. They are even thinking of making her a service dog for Avril. On Sunday, summer began to act different, she was more tired than usual, she didn’t want to play, she was not jumping or eating. By Tuesday she began to walk differently and show signs of pain when carried. So they took her to bainfeild hospital where everything seemed perfectly routine. Her blood work, urine and all test came back normal but her X-rays showed she has diaphragmatic hernia. A diaphragmatic hernia is a condition in which a break in the diaphragm allows abdominal organs to move into the chest. Since she was found in the street, they knew nothing about her history and how she received this injury or condition. Summer needs surgery urgently to be able to survive. It is heartbreaking to see Summer, such a loving and beautiful dog in the condition she is in. Please help me raise funds to save Summer’s life and and get her back to good health. Summer, has brought so much love and joy to this family especially their kids. Avril and Luke are heart broken and want to help Summer. They were hopeful that Summer was there forever dog. Please help make this a reality, any contribution can help Summer with the cost of her surgery and her recovery stay at the hospital.
