Help Save the Historic Triune Masonic Temple!

Donativo protegido
To preserve our beloved Triune Masonic Temple, we need to quickly raise $75,000 to finish brick repair and tuckpointing begun and abandoned by our contractor.

My name is Carl, and I am Master of Saint Paul Lodge Number Three, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Minnesota. Our Lodge is Steward of the Historic Triune Masonic Temple in the Meriam Park District of Saint Paul, Minnesota. The Temple building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

This magnificent historic edifice was built in 1910 and has been in continuous operation since then. It is special for a great number of reasons not the least of which are:

1. It has been recognized as a site of historic importance by being placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

2. It is the ONLY antique Masonic Temple within the city limits of Minneapolis and Saint Paul that is still used as a Masonic Temple AND remains under the ownership of a Masonic Lodge.

3. The Temple is used by other organizations on an ongoing basis such as a Church, the Living History Society of Minnesota, several dance groups, meditation groups, musical groups, and two other Masonic Lodges. We are fortunate to be able to offer our facility to these organizations at affordable cost.

4. In addition to our ongoing tenants, Triune Temple remains a popular venue for weddings, funerals, music recitals, and other events.

The Temple is a very special place for a large and diverse group of people and organizations.

Over three years ago, we took out a mortgage to pay for a $300,000 project to complete brick repair and tuckpointing on the building. We were forced into this because the building had deteriorated to the point that bricks were literally falling off the parapet. We had no choice but to take this step and initiate repairs to the building.

During the Covid-19 crisis, we paid the contractor about 90% of the agreed-upon amount and the contractor then skipped town leaving about $75,000 in work not completed. We are about to close a deal with a much more carefully screened builder to complete the work but frankly, between our $2800/month mortgage payment, sky-high insurance rate increases, taxes, rental income still recovering from the Covid-19 crisis, and membership still recovering from Covid-19, we don't have the funds to pay for this critical repair.

We are really approaching the point of considering whether or not we can complete the repairs and keep the building.

Which is why we're asking for your help now.

How will we use the money?

To pay for the final brick and roof repairs with ZERO going for administrative or other costs.

What will we do if we receive more donations than we need for this specific project?

100% of any excess funds will be used to pay the above-mentioned mortgage.

Thank you so much for your generous support and assistance.

Please like and share far and wide.

Warm regards,

Carl M. Andersen
