Hello, I’m an organic farmer living for over 20 years on my land in the rainforest. The Chinese with the acquiescence of our government has begun a quarry project above my place of residence and farm along the river. They are destroying the river that I live from as well as my land exacerbating the existing climate emergency.

Up until three weeks ago this was the second cleanest river in The Commonwealth of Dominica, The Nature Isle of the Caribbean, the only rainforest island in the world. I desperately need legal representation as I am devastated by the ecocide happening around me. I haven’t had drinking water for weeks as now there are excavators higher up the river rendering the water undrinkable and destabilizing the surrounding land without. They have yet to produce an environmental impact assessment (as required by law) nor consult with me the sole land owner living in the immediate impacted area. The damage from this project is irreversible.

The ravagement created by this project will permanently destroy this rare and precious ecosystem.

We seek funding for legal representation for a three fold-purpose.

Firstly: In the immediate, for mitigation and compensation as to the destruction already caused

Secondly: To achieve an injunction to stay the project until a proper environmental impact assessment.

In order to do so we must be able to retain the services of a license surveyor to both assess damages and present to the court.
