HELP SUPPORT THE PEOPLES’ VOICE CAFE! Since November 1979, the collectively run nonprofit Peoples’ Voice Cafe in New York City has presented performances featuring a diversity of artists and musical styles on most Saturday evenings from September through May. In addition to being quality performers, Peoples’ Voice Cafe artists have a social conscience and want to make the world a better place. Over the years, these artists have included Pete Seeger, Holly Near, Si Kahn, Roberta Flack, Odetta, David Amram, and Kim and Reggie Harris, as well as many other less-known but enormously talented people.
In September 2022 the Peoples’ Voice Cafe bank account was invaded through an online security breach. As a result, thieves stole $24,000, which was not recoverable. But thanks to the generosity of people like you we have now reached close to 3/4 of our GoFundMe 24K goal.
We initially launched the GoFundMe campaign in order to survive, and now we ask for your donations in order to thrive! After more than four decades of providing a venue for artists who have something important to say and the talent with which to say it, we want to make sure the Peoples’ Voice Cafe can continue to do so. Can you donate to help sustain and grow Peoples' Voice Cafe, especially needed in these challenging times?
Your help and support are very much appreciated as we strive to keep social activist music, consciousness, community spirit and action alive so we can continue to say, "If it's Saturday night, it must be the Peoples' Voice Cafe!"
Note: Peoples’ Voice Cafe, Inc., is a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3). Performances currently take place September through May, beginning at 8:00 PM on Saturday evenings at the Judson Memorial Church Assembly Hall, 239 Thompson Street, New York, NY 10012. Admission is by voluntary contribution. No one is turned away for lack of money.
