Hi my relatives,
My name is Riel Drury. I'm the Leader of Our Storytellers Media Inc. I'm Métis from Nehiyaw and Soto background. My family is from Red River, Manitoba. I was born and raised in the beautiful lands of British Columbia.
We are raising funds for new camera equipment for the Our Storytellers podcasts and other special Indigenous-based film projects.
My best friend, Ryan Jim and I, started this project with a clear mission in mind: to tell Indigenous Stories and invest in Ceremony.
Why we started Our Storytellers Media Inc.
There are many reasons why I started this company. Every day, I discover a new reason.
- The primary reason is that I want to ensure that the old stories are collected and documented for the next generations.
- Another reason is that I want to normalize Ceremony for my generation that grew up disconnected.
- I also want to show off the badass work that Indigenous peoples produce, despite the odds being against us.
- I want to uplift Indigenous Leaders and learn from them.
- I want to produce real profits that go back into the community. Free from political influence.
- Much, much more.
Being raised ceremonially myself, I know that I have a duty to the community. Therefore, I knew that if it's to be, it's up to me.
How you can help:
By donating even one dollar, we will become closer to being able to purchase camera equipment for the company. We were previously borrowing from a friend.
In Conclusion
Regardless of the outcome of this campaign. We will find a way and adapt to ensure we will continue our mission. I commit to you that I will make sure of it.
