Tim Barbee Needs A Liver Transplant
Donation protected
We're writing today with heavy but hopeful hearts, seeking your support for our husband, father, and friend Tim Barbee, as he has been diagnosed with end-stage liver disease, and he urgently needs a liver transplant to continue his journey in this beautiful life.
Tim's health journey began in 2015 when he was diagnosed with liver disease, but it took a turn for the worse in April 2020 when he was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease. Recently, he was officially placed on the liver transplant list after doctors reviewed his test results, and we received the encouraging news that Medicare has approved the transplant. For those who don't know, Tim is from Deland, Florida. He was a football player with Deland High School, went to Bethel College on a football scholarship, and ended up attending Toccoa Falls College where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Christian education, and where he met Corina, his wife of almost 44 years. He was a teacher at Mount Zion High School for the last 17 years of his career until he was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease.
The road ahead is challenging, both emotionally and financially. Tim's liver disease has reached a critical stage, and a transplant is the only hope for his survival. We are grateful for the outstanding medical team at Emory University Hospital and Kaiser Permanente working tirelessly to guide us through this complex process.
However, the financial burden is immense. The estimated cost of the transplant is $150,000, with Medicare covering only 80%, leaving a significant gap. Aftercare, medications, testing, and hospital costs are additional expenses that Tim and our family are grappling with. In total, we anticipate a shortfall of $30,000 for the transplant and $70,000-$80,000 for aftercare and medications.
We understand the gravity of the situation, but we firmly believe that with your help, we can make a difference. We are reaching out to our community, friends, and compassionate individuals like you to contribute to Tim's life-saving journey. Your support will not only alleviate the financial burden on the Barbee family but will also give Tim a chance at a healthier and happier life.
Here's how you can help:
Donate: Any amount, big or small, will make a difference. Your generosity can bring hope to Tim and our family. All donations will go towards Tim’s medical bills and continued care.
Share: Spread the word. Share this message with your network, friends, and social media. The more people who know, the greater the impact we can make together.
Pray: Keep Tim, our family, and the medical team in your thoughts and prayers. Pray for strength, comfort, and a successful transplant.
We understand the financial constraints many are facing, but even a small contribution or sharing this message can go a long way. Let's come together as a community and make a positive impact on Tim's life.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are immensely grateful for your consideration and support during this challenging time.
Thank you for being a beacon of hope in Tim's journey.
With heartfelt gratitude - WE STAND,
The Barbee Family
