Help SAVE Zaria from Euthanasia
Donation protected
Zaria is a 1 year & 3 month old kitty. She is spayed and has a a gorgeous ‘short’ tortishell coat. More of a medium coat if ya ask me.. She was brought into the shelter as a stray. Recently, shelter staff have noticed super concerning symptoms like drastic weight loss and trouble urinating. Because the shelter can’t afford her medical treatment, they scheduled Zaria to be euthanized on October 26th. We only have about six days to save her life.

We brought her into the vet for a firm diagnosis. After lab tests, she was diagnosed with a severe ‘Feline Urinary Tract Infection’ with a small urinary obstruction caused by the infection. Sadly the cause of this was the less than livable conditions, in a tiny cage with a dirty litter box.. It’s so sad to see this happening to more and more shelter cats. The vet prescribed antibiotics for now until we can get her the perineal urethrostomy surgery she needs. She’ll also need to be hospitalized so they can monitor her post surgery. This is very time sensitive. If FUTI is left untreated it can be fatal. Every day counts. She has already lost a significant amount of weight since she arrived at the shelter. With hospital stay, exams, treatment, and medications they estimated around 4,000$ in vet bills.

We will be fostering Zaria in our home until we can get her the surgery she needs. She will be the 26th cat we have saved! We appreciate your support. There are so many animals who are subjected to ‘below standard’ conditions in humane societies around the country. At the first sign of illness they are put on the ‘kill list’ because the shelters can’t afford to help them. It’s our mission to rescue as many cats as possible! We wish we could save them ALL.. But we are just doing what we can, saving one life at a time!
