Help save animals in Morocco by Maroua
Donation protected
For most of my life in Morocco, I have been witness to tragic events involving animals. Bearing witness to such atrocities has hurt my heart to the point where i decided to to start rescuing these animals on my own.
What have my efforts looked like so far?
On a daily basis, i see cats of all ages and abilities, sick with transmissible deseases and heavily pregnant, abandoned like rubbish.
They face extreme temperatures, abuse at the hands of people, desease and starvation.
Dogs face many of the same issues, though they are even more at risk of violence and torture.
Lately, there has been a large uptick in stray and abandoned female dogs in the streets of Tangier. With my limited budget, i do my very best to care for these abandoned, sick and injured animals, but it s not easy.
Recently, i left my parents' home and decided to dedicate all my time and efforts to give animals a safer and better life by rescuing them and finding them loving families.
Now that i am dedicating all my time and energy to rescue, i need your help.
In order to effectively rescue and release or rehome animals in dangerous and unhealthy environments, I need to rent a space big enough to house animals in recovery for 3-4 months at a time.
During those 3-4 months, my team and I will raise the cats in safety until they can be sterilised, allow them to get accustomed to the local environment, start to feed them outside, and then release them where they were found. Once they are released, we will continue to support them with food and care when necessary.
As for dogs, I will take them to the rented house until I find them a loving family in a village where they can have more freedom.
We will repeat this process in different parts of Tangier. Our food bill, which is already enormous, will increase with every sterilised cat and dog, but we will do our best to support them until they can be released or rehomed.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a huge difference to the dogs and cats of Tangier. We will continue to protect and care for the street animals of our city, but with your support, we can do more than just feed them. We can reduce street litters and the stray problem through sterilisation, provide a recovery space for sick animals, and try to educate our neighbours on how to healthily co-exist with the animals they share the city with.
