Help Scarlet Russell Overcome Tragedy

My name is Dennis Peery and I am the Pastor of those involved in this incident. I am creating this page for a very important cause.

On Saturday June 29th 2024 a young vibrant girl who's name is Scarlet Russell and her mother Bridget Faulkenberry world was turned upside down. Scarlet while in her mothers car at a local hotel was shot by her ex boyfriend. This is a tragic and ruthless thing that should have never happened.

Scarlet was rushed to Mercy hospital in Ladue Missouri and immediately taken into trauma where doctors treated her when the news was given to her mother. She had a punctured lung and has a chest tube, but that is not the worst. That single bullet went through her long and ended up hitting her spinal column. After being seen by numerous doctors Scarlet would find out that she would not walk again. The bullet did to much damage.

She is no longer in the trauma ICU, and the chest tube was to be removed on Saturday 7/6.

She is to be released in a few days hopefully to undergo extensive physical therapy to help her adjust to her new way of life.

Scarlet now to learn a new way of doing things to include how to take care herself, her mobility. and her 2 year old mom. Yes she is a single mom, Her mother Bridget Faulkenberry now will have to take care of Scarlet until she learns to regain her independence, her grand daughter.

This incident not only affects them mental and physically, but financially.

Bridget said she has to have the carpeting in her house removed and have tile or something put. It has to be handicap accessible (Bed, Wheelchair, Accessibility). With this the medical bills are surmounting, future medical bills need to be covered to include the cost of physical, she will need to seek psychiatric help with her PTSD and fears of everything she has gone through.

As her Pastor and a small church we can only do so much and the bills will be exceed what the church can help and well... need I say more.

I am Bridget Faulkenberry's (mom) and Scarlet Russell's pastor of a small community church in St Charles, Missouri (Freedom Church St Charles) and I have started this GoFundMe account. All the funds raised are being put into a benevolence fund for Bridget and Scarlet to take care of the bills that are accumulating as well any special needs that have to be met such a wheelchair (powered hopefully), a medical bed, and scarlet will need to purchased of personal items to make her physical therapy a success. This is being done as the funds are being put in Pastor Dennis account he is immediately removing the money deposited and being redeposited into the churches benevolence account and is earmarked in the church ledger for Bridget and Scarlet. This money is being combined with money being raised by a local fund raiser as well.
