Helping Scott Garber’s family

Donation protected
Hi I am Lisa, and am asking for any help to raise money for my friend Scott Garber so he will not lose his home due to his inability to work. This is due to him having no control over his unexpected health issues. He has worked his whole life for
the government and now they want to deny him of any financial assistance. This is important to me because people work their whole life to accumulate the home, car, food and basic necessities that is needed to live. This is something that has happen that he has had no control over and now the government expects him to sell all he has worked for and be homeless. He has a family and living expenses to support and may loose it all due to health issues he has no control over. Anything will help and trust me this is not something he is proud to have to do is ask for help, but this is where he is at this point in his life.
If it wasn’t for Scott & Darnelle Garber. I would have been living homeless. So as a friend that is truly grateful for them opening up their own home to me. This is something I need to help them from all they do not only for me, but others whom they have helped besides myself. The best part is that they never asked for anything in return. It’s very rare to have people in your life that will be happy only to see you happy.

  • This is his story:
On December 16, 2020, Scott had to have full knee replacement, he was not able to receive proper care because physical therapy clinics were closed down due to Covid restrictions..

On June 10, 2022 he had to have a revision surgery on his original knee replacement because of a lack of proper care from Physical Therapy being closed down from the Covid restrictions, as a result of this his knee got infected from the hospital with a rare bacterial infection in the knee joint which then moved to the bones.

On July 16, 2022, he then had to have a 3rd surgery to try and get rid of the infection. After that surgery he was on IV Antibiotics until the end of August. At that point they took him off of antibiotics for 2 weeks to make sure the infection had cleared, but unfortunately before that time expired the infection was back. He and his wife then found out that the infection had spread to his leg and bones. They then had to remove the knee replacement altogether on September 14, 2022, and install antibiotic infused Bone Spacers as well he has to take oral antibiotics. This last surgery has caused Scott to be non weight bearing and essentially bedridden, and having to get around in a wheelchair. Lastly assuming they can clear up the infection he is up against at least one more surgery to replace the spacers with another new knee replacement. This final phase could have Scott out of work for another 6 months to a year ONLY if they can clear up the infection!!

Unfortunately Scott has been denied SSI benefits and has long since used up all of his leave, he and his wife have exhausted all of their savings at this point. Due to his unexpected course of events Scott’s wife has had to take time off of work to care for him..
