Help Scott Gordon with Medical Bills
Donation protected
Husband, Father, Friend, Colleague, Mentor. All words that describe Scott Gordon.
Scott has been an integral part of Toyota R&D for 15 years, and his expertise in the field of crash safety and data acquisition and analysis are world-class. Subject Matter Expert doesn’t effectively describe his role in Safety Test, and his absence is still felt a year later. Scott is also an avid bicyclist, brewer, and photographer. He is a loyal husband and dedicated father.
In April of 2021, Scott had a severe stroke that left him unable to speak and paralyzed his right side. After surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain and a long, hard road to recovery, Scott has regained some speech and is able to walk and use his right hand. His speech has dramatically improved, but he still faces many challenges. Because of his condition, Scott has been forced to take a medical retirement from Toyota. This has put an enormous burden on his wife, Beth, and their two children, Brenna and Luke, both emotionally and financially.
While his Toyota family may not be able to assist with the emotional aspect, we can certainly help to provide financial assistance. With that said, we are asking for your help.
The purpose of raising funds is to assist with medical bills accumulated with the several months of hospitalization after his stroke and intense therapy that continues today. Scott has been seen by Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapists frequently since his stroke. He is no longer on Toyota medical insurance, and his deductibles have restarted for this year. Copays and office/therapy visits add up quickly. Therefore, we’ve decided to take the initiative and help in this portion of his continual recovery. Every bit helps, and all donations are appreciated. Because of Scott’s fierce independence, if he knew about this GoFundMe page, he would never agree to taking the monies generated. Please be mindful of this when sharing with friends and coworkers.
