GoFundMe Campaign Outline: Supporting Scott Howell in His Fight Against Colorectal Cancer
Introduction:
My name is Braylen Milligan, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my uncle, Scott Howell, who is bravely battling an advanced stage of colorectal cancer. What was initially thought to be a stage II diagnosis has taken a devastating turn, and we need your help as Uncle Scott faces the fight of his life.
The Story:
Scott, age 45, was recently diagnosed with what was believed to be stage II colorectal cancer. However, during surgery, doctors discovered the cancer was far more advanced than expected. Scott underwent a grueling 9-hour surgery, during which his small intestines were redirected for an ileostomy, his large intestine was closed off, and both his rectum and part of the sphincter muscle were removed. Surgeons then used part of the large intestine to reconstruct his rectum.
When the final pathology report came back, the diagnosis was updated to stage IIIA colorectal cancer. This means that, in addition to his intense surgery, Scott will now have to endure 6 months of chemotherapy while living with an ileostomy. He is unable to work during this time, and the road to recovery will be long and challenging.
Why We Need Your Help:
As you can imagine, the physical, emotional, and financial toll this has taken on Scott and our family is overwhelming. Scott is a hard worker, but with the need for extended chemotherapy and the time required to recover from surgery, he will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. The mounting medical bills, coupled with daily living expenses, have placed an immense burden on our family.
We are asking for any help you can provide to support Scott during this difficult journey. No amount is too small, and every donation will go directly toward medical expenses, bills, and ensuring Scott can focus on his treatment and recovery without additional stress.
How You Can Help:
Your generous donation will:
• Help cover medical bills and chemotherapy costs
• Support living expenses while Scott is unable to work
• Provide peace of mind during this challenging time
Final Thoughts:
We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support we’ve already received. Your kindness has been a source of strength for our family. Now, as Scott enters this next critical phase of treatment, we ask for your continued support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any donation, big or small. Together, we can help Scott through this fight and give him the strength to overcome this challenge.
With heartfelt thanks, Braylen and Family
